Mizuno MP-18 line head weights

Previous lines of Mizuno irons have had different head weights: A (std) & B (lighter). Do they have two different head weights for the MP-18 line?

An extra half-inch will definitely have the standard weight heads unless you custom order the lignter ones.

On average, anyone know how much lighter the head weight will be? Curious as I'd like to calculate the swingweight differences.

Haven't measured them myself, but based on posts from others I've seen, the light weight heads tend to be about 10 gm lighter than the standard weight.

Usually 7g lighter (i.e. the #6 head at B weight = #5 head at A weight).

ive sent a few mails to different Mizuno distributors and the first reply was...its confidential....

im on my way out the door, and will drive by a Mizuno dealer with my gram scale in my hand, and will get back with a reply here...if they let me use my gram scale ;-)

From a older tread here on WRX the claim was 7 grams both up or down (a C weight option ? or plus 7 gr. weight?)

My own old Callaway X-Tour (2005) was ordered 1 inch longer than standard, and head weight is exactly 10 grams below standard, so it seems to be a bit different what the difference between A and B weight is.

The 7 iron B weight MP20 heads we have measure 259g and the A weight MP20 heads are 265g.

There was 7 grams difference on MP 18 blades, and thats also is the official difference according to the dealer, but we also measured a few others to make sure and found up to 9 grams difference (MP 18 SC), so it seems like there is "tolerances" even in their fitting carts who was a surprise for the dealer :-)

I can see that trhode has posted above here with a example of 6 grams difference, but expect it to be 7...but it might vary like for heads in general.

keep in mind that Mizuno has changed their stock shaft length +1/4" as well. The JPX919 and MP20 heads should be the same weight vs. the MP18's will be heavier. My MP18 "B" weight heads are 263g. vs. the 259g. MP20 "B" heads.
