How do you like the Wilson wedges? I have been thinking of picking some up as the price point is very tempting.

I really enjoy them. I am very picky about equipment, so many guys I know are surprised I put these in because they are "Wilson" but I have really enjoyed them. They have minimal offset, set up great, great turf interaction, and the grooves are ridiculous, they spin like crazy.

Interested to hear more about that 3 wood set up and how you arrived at it

I was gaming a three wood that was a rocket but was having a lot of problems controlling it. So I decided to try some new heads and shafts.

At first, I decided I wanted to throw in a five wood, so I could get tighter gapping. I didn't have a five wood shaft available so I was like, let me try the KBS, and it was great. I loved the length, I could control it well and it felt better to me. The problem I had were two things, it seemed to draw biased, and it was maxing at 235-240 ish which was what I wanted at first. But then I decided I wanted more distance...

So I made the choice to drop my four iron, go five iron to three iron and add a three wood. The three wood allows me to hit it 250 ish and maybe close to 260 off the tee, so I can get to more par fives in two and have another driving club. I loved the feel of the KBS so much that I threw it in the three wood, it has been absolutely phenomenal, super accurate, feels great and goes a fair distance for a short three wood.

At this point, it's the middle of the summer and my coach bought some 950 FW shafts to try for himself and I decided to give one a go, didn't love the feel but it went straight and fairly far so I decided to do some more testing, cause why not? But for the summer season the KBS stayed in and if I had to play an event now, it would stay in.

Problem with my three wood is that with the setup I am looking to transition into this fall, I would like to get a three wood that carries 255 off the ground, and I wasn't sure what to try. But, my other coach just picked up a G400 Stretch 13* and let me give it a go, man is it money. Feels great, goes the right distance, solid height and looks A+. He has a Diamana Thump in it, and I really like that shaft. So if I decide to put another fairway in the bag, I will likely purchase one of those to try.

It is likely I make a switch to a new three wood, G400 or not, because I dropped my Epic on my 9 iron head a month ago and it damaged one of the aerodynamic wings on the crown and it hasn't felt the same since and I seemed to have lost distance which is also frustrating.

How are you liking the even flow black? Its a shaft that has caught my eye.

I've always loved the feel of PX shafts, not sure why, but just something that has appealed to me. I tried HZRDUS when it first came out and was just too stout for me, so I waited and tried to find something new. Once they came out with EvenFlow I was all eyes, ears and more, I really wanted to try it. Once I got it and it came to my house, it took maybe 2/3 days of testing and it went in, hasn't come out since. Absolutely love it, control and feel are A+. The one problem I am having is too high of launch and spin, so I will likely look into trying the EvenFlow T1100 soon. Other than that, it has been one of the best driver shafts of all time for me. Once I find something, I really don't like to switch, so unless the T1100 is that much better, the black will probably stay in. One thing I will say is that I think I prefer it in an M3 as opposed to the M4, the M4 is a great driver, don't get me wrong, but the M3 is really customizable and I think even more controllable. The only reason I got rid of my M3 was to try an M4.

As far as other shafts, the only other shafts I am considering trying are the Tensei white in driver and hybrid, I think the Mitsubishi Thump will be the three wood gamer no matter what.

Do you have any swing weighting issues with the shorter clubs? I'm 6'0 but have toyed with 44" drivers before as well. Never ended up bagging one because of the amount of weight needed to add in, but swing speed doesn't go down for me at the shorter length for whatever reason.

No, I have not had any issues. I don't build based off of swing weight but weight the heads properly to bring them to the right frequency. Shafts are all 370* tip, so they all come at the same length and weight to me. I just add the proper tip weights to each head to bring the weight to what I desire, then cut and check freq.

Interested as to thought for bending the 64 to 66?

I have a 64 and I love it. I go between a 58 and a 60 as well, and when I go 60/64 feel like they're too similar, so the 60/66 seems interesting.

Love the bag.

I have different wedge numbers for each club, so like 48* is 120-130, 54* is 105-115, etc. So I had to bend the 64 weak to get the numbers where I wanted them. Not for more play around the greens as some suspect. But, it has actually turned into a sort of deadly short sided club when needed, just have to swing aggressively.

How's those gripmasters?

I love them, by far the best grips I have ever played with. But, with how much I play the tack goes quickly, so I just rub them down with some alcohol prep wipes and they are back to solid tack. I would like to look into getting the even tackier kangaroo leather grips though, as I just never feel I can get too much tackiness.

Well, I thought I was going to end up with a G400/410 stretch and I ended up with this...

Never liked Titleist clubs, especially woods, but this thing was really good when testing. I’ve got the 90 day PGA Tour Superstore deal, so if it doesn’t work out I could switch for something new. Only other FW I would likely consider is the F9+, or G410 but who knows. This thing might stay in the bag if TrackMan testing is as good as the golf store testing was.

Shaft is an EvenFlow T1100 75g 6.0

Just ordered two T1100 driver shafts, going to put one straight in and tip the other 1.

Also, got a set of Edel Hand Grounds ordered. A cool project that isnt usually done by them. 46, 52, 58, 64, digger wide all the way through.

Will post pics when they come in!

I’ve got their digger grind on my 59 and 63 wedges.

How do you like them? I liked that they weren’t super diggy, but I was able to get under the ball well.

I love them, I feel like I can really go after a full shot with them because of the extra bounce and have only had issues on hardpan lies.
