Srixon wrench and screw

I was reading the reviews of the new Srixon Z85 drivers and noted that a lot of persons are commenting about a wrench not being included with the Z585 driver. Since I just bought a Z765 driver that did not come with a wrench, I decided to make my own out of an old Adams wrench that I had lying around. Incidently, the screw they use is slightly bigger that a robertson (square) #3. A #4 might fit but I don't have a bit that size.

It took about a minute on the bench grinder. I first ground off the adams triangle part then made the square. I just took a bit off at a time until I got it to the right size.

Also, it turns out that the screw from my Bridgestone J715 driver is the exact same thread size. It is a bit longer than the Srixon screw but I inserted the bridgestone screw into the Z765 head and it tightened perfectly.

Very cool. I dont know why Srixon does this with their screw. It would be my only complaint. I bought my driver the other day at the store and I had to ask for the wrench. It is a little off putting when I'm spending $499 + tax and if I buy any other driver they just throw it in... I just assumed the wrench was included anyway but especially when they are opting to move away from the same star bit everyone else is using, there should be no hassle about getting one. The 85 drivers are their best yet though!

I haven’t hit my Z765 driver yet. It was an impulse buy at a great price since the Z785 is outside of my golf budget. Will try to get out tomorrow. At least I can adjust it now.
