New irons distance loss?

Just replace my old ping anser irons 3-pw project x 6.0 where fitted and where yellow dot. Swapped them for Mizuno JPX 900 tours 4-pw with X100 shafts 1 degree upright have been hitting them all week feel really good and surprisingly higher than old ansers but seem to be losing abit of distance the seller who had them bent them for me 1 degree upright from 1 flat from his specs.

Usual carry distance

Old pw 150-155 new pw 130 -135

Old 9 160-165 new 9 140-145

Old 8 170-175 new 8 150-155

Old 7 180-185 new 7 160-165

Old 6 190-195 new 6 170-175

Old 5 200-205 new 5 180-190

Old 4 210-215 new 4 195-200

Old 3 220 -230

Anyone have any thoughts

Im sure the lofts on the Pings are stronger than the Mizunos.

I didn't check but I'd bet they are similar. If anything I'd guess the Mizuno might be stronger. I think the original Ansers had a 23 degree 4 iron and 46 wedge.

Most sets stronger than that now. My 850 forged had a 22 and 45 for same clubs

The 900 Tours and the anser 4 iron are both 24* for example. Maybe the X100 versus the 6.0 could be the answer???

If you asking me the question re shafts, I really have no way of knowing. I do know for me I can play the 6.0 shaft and no way hit a X100. But that's me.

I’ve heard when people struggle to hit the X100 they have a low ball flight but not having that issue with the X100’s atm with the ball flight i think there going abit higher than my old ansers it’s just the carry numbers not just there

2 shafts with totally different bend profiles

Might just need abit more time to adjust to them hopefully

Those are some pretty big differences. Unless it is just a period of adjustment, I'd go back to the Pings.

Loft specs are virtually identical.

Can't see how there is ANY way you could lose 20 yards per.

First time playing with x100’s but play extra stiff in my woods so went with the x100’s In irons to try out. Not hitting the ball best at the moment anyways strikes closer to heel but middleish can shape ball either way but atm hitting fades all day usual shot is draw probably wat the problem is

I had the same thing happen to me, I had to reshaft back to

ProjectX to recapture my distance w my new irons.

Higher launch and maybe more spin would equal less distance?

I lost a little bit going from R300 to S Nippon Modus Pro 120's.

Having said that, accuracy for me trounces 3 yards any day.

I would thought they would launch lower and spin less than project x 6.0

I suspect a combination of factors ... shafts for one, but the 900 Tours are also more demanding, so if you're not striking the ball as well right now, that will contribute.

Is that a product of loft, or of spin?

ive alwasy spun X100 more than PX...you may look at apin and launch angle numbers..higher angle plus more spin has to equal less carry.
