So I came in here last year asking y’all to spread the word about The Gator Invitational—an elite Junior Invitational held at The Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, MS—home of the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship (who saw Cam Champ win there this past weekend?).

So the last year’s event featured the #1 junior—Frankie Capan (you see him playing for Bama in the East Lake Cup?)—winning the title. According to golfweek’s strength of field measure, of 253 ranked junior events, The Gator had the 38th strongest field. 5th strongest among “independently run” events and 5th strongest among 36-hole events.

Anyhow, applications are once again open for the 2019 event. We already have 11 top 100 players committed and are looking to build on last year’s success. If you know anyone interested, here is the link.

It’s just a boys event. Just a single age division (best players we can find). This is generally 9th grade and up, but the very top 7th/8th graders may could. Course played about 7,000-7,100 for last year’s event.

Since I know y’all are interested, this event has taken off. Up to 45 college commits. 23 to top 20 ranked programs including at least one commit to each of the top 6 teams.

Recently procured an exemption for our champion into the Dogwood Invitational—a B rated amateur event in Atlanta.

28 top 150 players. 32 ranked in top 30 of graduating class. Numbers 1-2-3 class of 2023 as well.
