Mizuno Jpx 900 irons finish peeling bubbling issue

Played in the rain with my new jpx 900 tour/forged combo today and noticed a finish issue with the forged iron

Is this a common issue?

Any idea on how i can stop this spreading?

I don't know if that's common, but if it is, in my opinion, that would be major bullshtein.

I noticed my 900 Tours were peeling in the cavity as well. Tried to research but couldn’t find anything.

Dont think mizuno quality could be this poor i think

I've played my Forged since May and haven't noticed this. Not to say it won't happen, but it hasn't happened yet for me personally.

Don't see that on my 900 tours. Reach out to mizuno they might fix it up for you

It's paint. Bag chatter causes chips. There are a few guys complaining about it in the Hot Metal thread. Strictly cosmetic. If it really bugs you it may be possible to take acetone or lacquer thinner and wipe off the paint on the edge of the cavity.

wow.. I almost posted that it looked like paint.... But figured id get lit up for saying that , and i myself hoped it wasnt true.

I guess several multi material irons have paint.. i know ap2 does ...

My 900F have it too. Idk if mizuno will do anything about it

I only see it on three of my irons. It looks really bad, but most likely the clear coat peeling off or something to that affect. Doesn’t affect the club, but I intend to remove the rest of it to clean it up because I’m OCD like that.

Those 900 Tour irons were media blasted. Clear evidence is all the paint fill is missing. When they were blasted the silver paint came out of the cavity. It's crazy to throw stones at Mizuno about the finish when someone blasted the irons like that.

“Clear evidence”...I’m glad you’re not a detective. I just recently removed the paintfill about three days ago with a Q tip dipped in acetone and a needle. The peeling started about six months ago.

I dipped a Q tip in acetone to loosen the paint and used a needle to get the rest out.

My MP-60’s did the same thing. The cavities started peeling.

Had this issue with my 900s and now again with my 919s. Ugh

Same here, I just took a Scotch-Brite and some bar keepers and removed what I think is clear coat but maybe paint-Jeezy peezy...... Looks better without the flakey look- nice satin finish and a year later no evidence of oxidization or rust.

Well mizuno ended up replacing that 5 iron just for an update, but now the 4 iron is flaking off as well ????

But oh i well i just gave up, liked their products too much to be bothered by bad paint job, could have been worse i guess
