Mixing old & new Vokey’s - distance gaps

As the title says, will .. for example a SM 7 in 50* come closer in distance to my older Hogan 46* E wedge and an older oil can Vokey slot better inbetween the E and SM4 54*?

Worried the newer wedges go further and messes with the gap?

No one mixing old and new vokey? My theory is more say the gap and pw's where distance might vary due to improved design while lofts remain same

New wedges of the same loft will go the same distance all things being equal, shaft, length, etc.

I thought the only real difference would be increased forgiveness from center of gravity being moved. Are you comparing conforming grooves to non conforming grooves?
If anything can go right, it might!

No, newer wedges are not longer. They may be a touch more forgiving in some cases but only slightly. I use old Vokeys mixed with new and you should treat them the same.

Awesome, thanks guys.,, yeh, it’s a mixture of grooves. I’m assuming less spin will give you more distance?

You need to check the lofts on your wedges if you are seeing the same distance with a 50* and a 46* club.

New wedges will have more spin, generally.

As far as the new groove, that only makes a difference from the rough.

No, the 46 and 50 are not the same distance, I’m worried the new gap wedge would leave me closer to the PW distance
