WTH is wrong with this world these days. Why is everyone such a fragile, delicate flower? Why does there have to be an excuse for everything? Can you not just be wrong, or make a mistake these days and just own your stuff and move on.

These kids all think they are going to play video games or be on YouTube for a career.

I just read another RC article taking about communication and being more organized like USA Basketball or some horse ****. Hey, try paying better golf.......

Everyone is so **** lazy at work anymore, everything is a **** emergency, cause no one knows how to be prepared anymore.

Time to go back to calling a spade, a spade, and holding people accountable for their actions. I wonder how long I will last......

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I don't really agree with you, I think many people think the world has gone soft as there is a particular part of the population that is very vocal about being offended by everything, just as there is a part of the population commited to saying everyone these days is a common dandy...but it's not a big part of the population. Just vocal parts.

I have many 20-29 year olds who work for me and they are great. Though their jobs are harder than mine was when I did the same thing

Another thing...ironically, surveys show most people think the world is worse off now than it was when we were growing up, and our kids will have it worse than us....we are handing them probably the most combustible and combative political situation in years. yet we expect them to just smile and love it and not be upset by this.

Also....Companies treat employees more disposable than ever. Down quarter? Lay off 1000 people. But when a 25 year old has their CV on a job site it's like "what a spoiled, disloyal millenial, unwilling to work for things"

I think we're actually a bit tough on young people. The job market is worse, the housing market is worse... maybe they SHOULD look at YouTube careers, because big companies will pay them under market or force them into unpaid internships while the CEO increases his own pay by 35% and then fires them after missing a number without ever knowing their names

I respect your point of view, and agree with several points.

I may just have too much of it going on around me currently.

Jeff has good points, and I agree that some millennials are excellent to work with, as are members of other generations. Some are total dbags, again as are others. I see the “going to sh-/“ as a social media issue. It has created a dimension in our world that is hostile in nature - many things are created solely for this dimension and in it exists hostility, narcissism, and a host of other traits that are out of proportion in the internet world than in the real world. The real world is not nearly as polarized as the social media world. If that dimension were not as important to us as it is we would all be “better”. I think. I dunno.

Oh I 100% agree with that. I've traveled throughout the US and Canada. Different States and provinces with different leanings etc...you know what? People are mostly really nice and reasonable

I think the "internet" blows EVERYTHING out of proportion.

Has the world gone soft? Sure. But its way to easy to make something appear larger than it really is.

Back in the day when you thought the earth was flat, you were the only one. Now a days you can fin others wearing the tin hat and all of the sudden you start to believe it image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I find it ironic the generation that complains most about "millennials" is the generation that raised them......

Nothing says logical like using broad strokes painting an entire generation as one in the same.

Is it worth noting that the OP didn’t mention millennials or any specific age group? He specifically mentions “everyone” several times.

A tale as old as time. Every generation thinks the next one is a bunch of pussies. But, if I may ask, who raised the generation of which you complain?...Ah, I see. Maybe the blame for all the perceived problems lies a bit closer to home than the previous generation would like.

I just took the mention of "kids" as such. Perhaps I was wrong to do so but that's how I interpreted

OP mentioned "These kids" and then further alluded to it with the reply to Jeffs thoughts on said kids/"millenials".

Keep in mind most people that are "ok" keep to them self and take care of their problems. Its the minority that is loud and outspoken. Giving the allure of a "crowd" where there is none............

It was not a "world is falling" post. I have just had too many interactions recently with this type of stuff, and I am talking about people in their 40's also. It was a bad morning, said I was just going off a little.

The kid reference was more to several of my son's friends.

I judge people one way, actions, so no intention to paint "everyone" in the same corner. Yeah, my pops was old school....
