I lucked out and found a Cally Epic "Tour only" glued hosel 3 wood at the local shop with an Aldila Rogue 125 MSI 70x. It is SO good. I've had a few 3w I've loved over the years - Nike T60, RBZ Tour, Titleist 913fd, Cally Epic, and G400 are my favorites, but this one is ridiculously good.

That is a sick looking head with the standard hosel. Is the tour only head the same size as the standard head? It appears slightly smaller in this pic, but that could be perception with the glued hosel.

I have a 2017 M1 HL and 15deg. The 15deg is crazy long for me. Both are stock shaft, stock everything. I just put the weight in the toe of the 15deg (and leave the 17deg as it came off the rack) so it doesn't go left and it's great. I've got the HL in the bag right now. Don't need the extra length of the 15deg and the extra height from the 17deg loft is so good off the fairway. Best three wood I've ever had. These just beat out the 2017 M2 tours, which are pretty **** good too. I've had some old favourites and one I just gave to a mate that have served me well (a Srixon F45 tour glued head with an Attas 6star 7s in it) and have tried some of the new ones (G400, 917F, JPX900 etc) but nothing gets close to the 2017 M1 fairways for me.

I haven't found one to bet my Cobra f6. However, I did just put an idiot mark on it!!! My OCD might make me look a little harder.

What is everyones thoughts on the current best 3 wood with the new releases that have came out?

I can't remember exactly who it was but one of the pros interviewed on The Gear Dive podcast said it best (paraphrasing): "The 3-wood is a fickle mistress. When you find one you like, don't let it go." AMEN!

When I did my TPI fitting back in 2011 when I was a semi-good player I literally confused the fitter and it took forever to find anything that performed for me, and I've had the same struggles with every fitting since. I'm currently gaming an M3 with an Atmos Black 6S that isn't too bad, but am still dreaming of the day I finally find my fickle mistress. Sigh...

Maybe it'll be one of this new crop? PXG Gen 2? M5 Ti? Fingers crossed for my Club Champion session later this month!

I demo’d a TS2 this weekend with the stock Tensei in it....wow. Straight rocket launcher for me and my swing. The Tensei shaft is just perfect for how I swing the club to. Was longer, felt better, and sound was better compared to my Ping g400. I ordered one immediately.

Probably shouldn’t be responding in this thread. I’ve only really played 13.5 or 16.5/17 degree woods.

I have a soft spot for the razr fit and razr fit xtreme lines, though. Played 3, 4 and 5 woods in both models. Felt great, looked sleak, and were affordable. They were performers, too.

The longest I ever played was an sldr hl 17. It was nearly as long as my driver. Sounded pretty great from what I remember, muted whack. Sometimes it was harsh and it seemed small to my eye. Mishit it too much to keep it.

Switched from mizuno to titleist irons and I’ve got this ocd thing where I like to see all the same brand clubs in my bag (doesn’t apply to the driver, still rocking the razr fit xtreme). I’m in a 910f 15 right now. Outside of the standard titleist line up mark on the crown, I like it. I know exactly where I miss when I do miss. If there was any knock on the razr, I sometimes had a hard time figuring out the miss hits. I don’t think the 910 is longer than the razr but it isn’t much shorter and feels as good with better feedback.
There's nothing in the rule book that says you can't play drunk.

A lot of love here for TS3. Its a little monster. Set at 16.5 with a smoke 6.5 in it. It checks all the boxes. I know Taylor makes a nice piece but when you add the shaft weight between 80 and 90 grams the head vanishes. Great piece on a budget is the 915f2.

I have tried the IZ in the fairway. It doesn't feel as lively as the di or tp. I didn't like it in the fairway. Might be good in a driver though. The TP is very good in a fairway, not boardy at all.

I am a firm believer the best 3-Woods were made between 5-10 years ago, I've hit a lot of the new stuff, can't stand it... its all very "tingy" and build for distance which is not what I want in a 3-Wood.... I hit my driver straight enough where I don't need a 3-Wood to be a 2nd driver for tight holes. I need a 3-Wood that's workable off the deck and goes a certain distance.... I feel like every company is trying to design the next "henrick Stenson" 3-Wood that can go 300 off the tee..... a 3-wood that goes 300 off the tee does me personally no good if its worthless off the ground.

You don't need more distance from your 3-wood, yet your 3-wood is basically a 2-wood at 13.5 degrees?

Why not play a "hotter" 4W with more loft for easier play off the deck and more height going into greens?

No one is making you play a 3W that goes 300 yards, if my M2 fairway were only 13.5 degrees, it certainly would go that far and would be ill-suited for what I need it for. The newer tech is lower spin and gives me the ability to add more loft due to the lower spin design of the heads. This means- easier shots off the deck and higher/softer landings into greens on the rare holes that require a 3W/4W approach.

well I have a Rogue SZ 3+ in a hzrdus yellow 85 on it's way so I'm hoping that's the one! Excited to get back in a bonded head and it'll be my first 3+. Also have never played a 80g shaft in a 3w so this will probably be more club than I can handle. I did however get it chopped to play at 42" so hoping that helps. Planning on going "one-length" with my 3/5 woods.

If not, I'll swap out the shaft for something smoother with more launch. Kind of just wanted the shaft to put in a miz ST180 but I'll try it out first.

I have the TS2 and think it is fantastic. That said I just had a F9 Tour built because I liked the driver so much and I like it better than the Titleist. For me it is longer and the solid sound is fantastic. I am a 3 wood fan and use it a lot during a normal round on my course (mostly off the tee but usually on two par 5's as well). I would recommend taking a look at it. The TS2 has the Tensei Blue and the Cobra the Atmos Blue Tour Spec.

Years ago when I went to a hybrid for my 2 iron I hit it so much further and straighter that I took the 3 wood out of the bag for another wedge. As I got older and started losing distance, I really wanted something I could hit further off the deck. Knowing the technology in 3Ws had advanced I started shopping for a new one but was dissapointed in the head size and shallow faces of what I saw. Then I ran across the "mini drivers". Larger head, deeper face, higher MOI etc... I tried several and settled on the Callaway Bertha Mini 1.5 set to 16 degrees. I absolutely love it! I can now occasionally run one up on a par five or least be close enough to get it up and down more often.

But I'll tell you one thing, If I ever find one of these-

"Best 3 wood is the one that gets the job done and one that you can grab at any time and have a Stenson confidence in it."

I might get rid of my driver too!
