In rememberance

My father passed away suddenly earlier this month. He had been a golf writer covering Cornish golf since the 1990s. He was one of the proper journos - no spin or BS or ego, just accurate reporting and close relationships with those involved with the local golf union, and the various characters involved in Cornish golf.

He will be missed by many, and will be a tough act to follow.

Aside from all of his fine career accomplishments, being regarded as a true gentleman and family man are his finest achievements. His integrity and character, and loving smile shall live on in the hearts of you and yours for the rest of your lives. Enjoy his memory, you will always be a better person for having been his son.

I hope you are bearing up OK, and I am sorry for your loss.

He sounds like he was well respected by those who knew him.

For what it's worth, I'm not from that part of Britain, but as a Junior I always read the local paper's golf reports, and, when I got hold of it, the golf reports in the bigger regional, the Yorkshire Post. Watching the big pros on the TV was always great, but hearing about what was going on at a local level presented a more realistic picture.
