Cut Down Putter

When you cut down a putter, how much did you change the lie angle? My daughter's putter is appropriate length, but the toe is WAY up in the air.

Probably depends where you started. You may need to head into your local golf mart and have the lie angle adjusted if it is that far off. Should only be a few bucks or so. Do you have a comparable USKG putter to set the cut down putter next to for compare? Note: This would assume you believe the age appropriate USKG putter has a reasonable lie angle to begin with.

We cut down a 35" Ping Anser putter last year with no issues. Kid was 49" at the time. Putter was cut to 27.5" finished club length.

My son’s cut down putter seems to work well and it looks to be flat enough when he addresses the ball. Kid is 47” tall and putter is 25.5” finished.

We never had to adjust lie on putters. Irons, yes. Check with a pro to see if her setup if off (e.g., hands too low). If your child prefers straight arms down (e.g., chambeau), you may have to go to even a shorter putter or have them choke down.
