Just depends on your definition of hobby

I play both golf and hockey. A season of men's league can be a little pricey, but all those rounds of golf add up.

If you play summer and winter it may be close, plus sticks are an easy buy...

I typically skate in the fall/winter and spring. I have all the gear, so the investment is more in league fees. My wife and I joined a country club though this summer, so I'd say golf is heavily outweighing hockey now in price. Haha.

Golf is not my most expensive hobby, but golf EQUIPMENT is due to ho-ing. I play guitar in a rock band and have way more invested in music equipment, but I don't ho in that hobby.

Taking a year or two off work to ride my motorcycle around the world is a lot more expensive than golf. Looking forward to getting back to golf so I can recover financially.

Golf certainly has the potential to be my most expensive hobby, but I don't play enough for it to actually be the most expensive.

It was until BST. Now the extra funds go to cycling, specially road bikes. It never ends.

Not even close. Race cars take my money, golf equipment gets sloppy seconds.

Like others, cycling is my most expensive hobby in up front equipment costs and the never ending "N+1" is the ideal number of bikes to own. I managed to get down to two bikes last year since I can't get to mountain biking anymore, but that has since grown back to four with a possible 5th in the near future. Smart trainer, TrainerRoad subscription always something newer, lighter etc. Thankfully we have gotten out of the ski racing circus for my son. That was nuts, at the FIS level for the new skis, boots every year, travel to Europe, South America chasing snow for training and 3 years at a Ski Academy. It was a relief when he went to college, it was cheaper!

It most certainly would be if not for getting a part time job at my local course so I could play for free. I work maybe 5-6 days a month for a couple of hours each day and in return get to play anytime I want, and free range balls.

Kids are my most expensive, but greatest joy, too. Travel second. Golf next.

For me it is my most expensive. I also tinker with higher end consumer computer parts which can get quite expensive but I don't buy things that often., Golf is definitely the more frequent expense, whether it be greens fees, new balls/gloves, and the occasional new club.

    No.

Waterfowl, quail, and pheasant hunting plus shooting sports take a bigger bite out of the budget.

Once one begins to cruise on Regent Seven Seas, it's really hard to come up with a more expensive hobby. 😬

It is not my most expensive hobby. There is a way to play a lot of golf with good clubs fairly inexpensively, but not if you have to have the latest products and play at top courses during prime time on a whim. Annual memberships, range passes, twilight golf, foregoing carts, and buying clubs a couple generations back can save a lot of money.

Getting my college degree was my most expensive hobby. That baby was more expensive than all the golf clubs I ever bought and will be buying my whole life.

My most expensive hobby is fishing. I spent more for my boat than I should have. Have a lot more rods and reels than golf clubs. Many more lures than golf balls...But I probably play golf more often than I go fishing...

Guitars, amps, and other music equipment is way above golf equipment, range buckets, and greens fees.
