Tipping on public holidays

I understand the discretionary nature of it all, but is it common practice to tip more for caddies on public holidays, eg Christmas day?

They are away from their families on a holiday so that we can enjoy their employer’s goods and services. I’d say it is appropriate to be a little heavy handed if deserved.

I always ask myself a simple question. Will I miss the tip more than it will mean to someone helping me enjoy life. The answer always makes it easy to be generous
