What do you do after a bad round? Buy new equipment or practice?

No more buying new equipment after a bad round. Repeat 100x.

I guess my new year's resolution will be to practice after a bad round. Note to self, can't buy a good golf game unless it's money for good professional lessons. For self thought good players, just practice and find it in the dirt again.

Go home, grill, sit on the deck, sleep. Repeat. Same as if a good round, honestly.

Agreed. I find a break is as good as any practice if I've been having a tough go of it lately.

Whether I play well or poorly, it doesn't really have any effect on me like that. Each day my swing feels different. And who needs an excuse to buy new clubs, lol.

No new clubs or practice. Just chalk it up to a bad day. Then get home and guzzle a bottle of vino.

I have to agree with the other guys here. Usually after a bad day or 2 i take the bag out of the trunk and it gets a "time-out" in the basement for a couple days. I try to just totally forget about golf and come back with a fresh perspective/better attitude.

There’s no such thing as ‘a bad round’. Any day on a golf course spending time with friends is a good day,

At our club I'll usually wonder out to the range (or one of the greens, etc) right after the round to try to reverse what was wrong - usually something fairly simple. I just spend a few minutes on it. Then hit the reset button...

Pout for about as long as it takes me to get home from the golf course (5-10 minutes), then forget about it. Tomorrow is another day.

When I have a tough go of it, I usually go check out some of the newer, hotter clubs at the pro shop or golf galaxy to make mine jealous and to remind them i could just trade them in for a new set.....now only if I had the ball$ to do that when my wife pisses me off.

  • If it's a really bad day, I usually go home and swap the irons out for one of my other sets that bring back good memories from rounds gone by. I might be much better if I would just stick with what works instead of always changing and thinking it was the clubs that made the difference.

Blame the course, the wind, the greens, the group ahead of us, my sore back, etc. And pretty much forget about it by dinner.

Have a few pops. Then move on. I will have bad rounds. It sucks but it's inevitable.
