Scotty newport 2

KGilmaKGilma Members Posts: 148 ✭✭
I jokingly told my wife I wanted a Scotty newport 2, when she asked what I wanted for christmas. Low and behold, there was a new one under the tree on Christmas morning. It's a 35" shaft like my other putter. Now I am thinking about sending it in to the custom shop, or maybe I just have it fitted somewhere local and adjust the loft and lie. Don't want to take it Golf Galaxy, any recommendations on somewhere to take it around Nashville, TN?

Send it back to Scotty, you can also change the shaft band, grip, and even the color.

Get fitted locally and then send to Scotty for adjustments.

Everyone I've talked to locally says they can bend it, but they don't have the capability to actually tell me if it needs to be. Best they can do is "eyeball" it.

Found a club champion shop that can do a putter fitting for $100 and adjust the loft/ lie if needed. There has to be a cheaper option than that or am I wrong here?

The GG in Brentwood is much better than the Franklin shop for club work.

Music City Golf probably can too. Upscale shop with good repair guys too.

Do you know if loft and lie don't suit you?

Suggest trying it for a whole first or if you know the loft and lie of your current putter are different and suit you, just get the Scotty adjusted to mirror that.

I think we all (me very much included) sometimes try to overcomplicate things. If you hole putts with it as it is, it suits you.

Get fitted for your putter! Played a 35" Newport for two years from a Odyssey Hot No. 1 at 35". Putt count was exceeding 34 to 36. Now playing a 34" and world of difference in putting and results.

I think this is the biggest issue. My previous putter is a 35 and it feels fine. I called the ship they will let me swap it for a 34" since I haven't used it.
