I was excited when I first started and saw "starting at $900" but quickly was at $1500 and got nervous.

Going to be very hard for me not to deposit $200 on a putter today. As in , I may as well ear mark it now.

Has anyone ordered one and gone through the "virtual putter fitting"? I'm about to order one and curious if there's any feedback / thoughts on it.

yeah, i remember in the artisan thread when someone first mentioned what the plan was for custom putter pricing ($900 starting price) and there was some debate about it.

Which process? A lot (including myself) have gone through the process to acquire a putter. Those lucky few, have also spent time with Mike Taylor to get a set a wedges.

well about 9 months in to having my putter and still in love. keeping good care of it and certainly will not change it for a long time.

the day at Artisan was perfect, food to putter; all the staff there were great, some brilliant stories and a great product.

I love their stuff, absolutely beautiful.

Unfortunately for me, neither my bank account balance nor my golf skills can justify the price tag.

Still love looking at them though. I'll have to live vicariously through some of you lucky guys.

Can you order a putter and not have to go to TX for a fitting?

yes, they do phone fittings with videos etc.

One day I will have one of their putters... And it will be my putter for life. Can't wait!!

Will take some. I didn't get it all tricked out. I didn't have time to get exactly what I wanted as far as finish goes before the national club pro last year. It's a stainless 0217, S bend hosel with no line. Daughter's name on the bumpers. Head is 330 grams at 34 inches with 3 degrees of loft. It's a perfect fit and a perfect build FOR ME.

I have 2 and the time John puts into the fitting is crazy.

Expensive, would prob just go with bettinardi cause that’s out of my price range. That said any high end putter is nicer then having “Scotty Cameron” stamped all over the putter with those red bedazzles.

Ha! Save $75-$100 per month for the next year specifically for an Artisan putter. If you have the discipline to do those two things you'll have an Artisan in you bag sooner than later. Now in my case, if I get $1K to spend my self discipline would cave and I'd have a new firearm in my possession. B)

I went through the fitting process about a month ago. While $1K is steep for a putter, it is worth is. The 3 hours spent with John during the fitting is easily worth $500 alone. He sees everything with your stroke and will give you tips no one else would be able to detect. On top of that, he spends a lot of time getting the balance just right. I can't wait for them to finally get around to making left handed wedges...I will be there the next day!
