Cobra F9 fairway woods

Haven’t seen much on these, I know they are still technically pre-release but I’ve seen them on eBay,etc already but haven’t seen much in regards to performance.

How does the F9/F9 Tour compare to the F7 and F8/F8+?

I game an F7 and really enjoy it, had an F8 and performance was very similar to F7 plus I like the slightly louder F7 sound (but more metallic, F8 was a bit more muted).

F9 Tour Fairway is the real deal, at least for me. Tested the 3/4 FW a few weeks ago with HZRDUS Smoke 70g 6.5 and was getting 3-4 extra mph ball speed over my normal 3W (CBX 13.5), with more forgiveness and slightly better feel. Felt as though I couldn't mis-hit it, it was that good. Will probably give it another look once it's in stores, and if it's still as good it will probably go into my bag.

As for comparisons...I tried the F8+ FW last year, and while it felt good something (or maybe a few things, I don't know for sure) was just missing. Was not getting ball speed anywhere near what I was seeing with the F9 Tour, and didn't feel like it could really even compete with my CBX. The F9 Tour absolutely can compete.

Do yourself a favor and give it a try - definitely worth your time. I think you'll be most impressed.

One other point...I only hit the Tour version of the F9, and only hit the F8+ version. I generally like smaller FW heads and did not demo the other models.

Thanks for the input. I was leaning F9 but I love my F6 Baffler 4/5 at 41.5”. Really considering the F9 Tour and playing it at 42”. I normally play 42.5” in a three wood.

Tested the F9 line last night. Hit the non tour 3-4wd and picked up a ton. great #'s, great setup, great feel.

The f9 driver was a bit perplexing, really low spin numbers(too low). tried everything(lofts, shafts, weight back) and nothing seems reasonable. Spin #'s were 1200-1800. Launch around 13.5-14

Still scratching my head on the Driver

I tested the new F9 3w non-tour with Tensi XS blue and its 10-15 years longer than my F7...

I too thought the F9 driver wasn't as impressive.

The fairways are a whole different story. I tried both the standard and Tour models. The Tour had a more penetrating flight and worked well with the HZRDS Smoke 6.5. It's honestly making me want to replace the G400 3W in my bag.

After driving the guys crazy at PGATSS (4 demo sessions), I purchased the 3/4 and 5/6 last night (non -tour versions). Perfection for me.

I ended up snagging a used F9 3-4 non tour off the bay to try. Now just a waiting game for the weather to cooperate in Indiana

... I have them both. F6 baffler which I find to be a combo of a fw wood and a hybrid, and I use mine as a hybrid at 41" with a heavier shaft. I didn't think anything could kick the F8 fw wood out of my bag but the F9 is longer with a great trajectory and feel. But the killer is it is even more forgiving. It has become one of the favorite clubs in my bag which is a first for a fw wood.

I have credit on a site and no store around me carries cobra. Can anyone give me an idea of how the non tour head sits? I bought and m4 last year after getting good numbers despite not loving how closed it looked to my eye....those numbers never translated to the golf course mainly because I always felt like it was going to go left.

I plan on hitting the range later and can snap a pic for you. It sits square to my eye. I'm not a fan of clubs that appear to sit open despite my miss being to the left.

I just picked up the standard 3-4 wood as well. Granted, I'm a beginner in golf (started playing 4 months ago), but it was very easy to launch. I demoed it against the M6 fairway, and the sound and feel were much better on the F9. I'm excited to start practicing with this club!
