New (longtime guest) member. Macgregor and golden bear irons re-furb project

Hello fellers, this is my first post and its exciting to share knowledge and talk golf. Ive been a long time viewer since highschool (2011-14). but now to the golf talks. i got a full bag of Macgregor MX custom irons (3-pw) and Woods (3-5). i want to reshaft the irons and maybe redo the finish, now thats where i need some direction, because i dont have a gauge to see the fitting of the shaft size and i dont know anything about re finishing irons (although i have seen alot of the custom stuff the top tier WRXers post lol ) so id gladly take the advice. Now onto the second set, i have some golden bear irons (missing the 8 iron and pw). Any help and knowledge of the history of the clubs etc will be awesome.

    Definitely one for the Classic Forum people. Post plenty of pictures because they/we love 'em.

    I think the MXs are likely to be 1970s. Any serial number or shaft label on them? The serial number should tell you if they're really a custom order.

    They should clean up nice, anyway.

    Best of luck rerfurbishing those irons. I really hope you're doing this for sentimental reasons because you'll be lucky if you break even if you're trying to resell them for a profit (no offense).
