This is the best analogy I've seen about the differences in the heads.
I personally play a 9* 2D (8.7 actual) straight in and it has "fixed" my miss (towards the toe @ 10:00) with the standard EFSZ and 3D. It's also lower spin than the 3D around 600 RPM for me.
I have the triple diamond, its long, very long but I have a two way miss with it being so fade bias. Got fit for a Speedzone which gave me a one way miss. I do absolutely love the look of the triple diamond though.
Which one of these heads would most likely compare to the cobra f9?
So can anyone just simplify this whole discussion by filling out a chart, maybe something like (no clue if this is right):
Bias Launch Spin
epic sz Draw Mid Low
1 diamond Draw Higher ~1 deg Higher ~500 rpm
2 diamond High fade Low ~1 deg. Low (same as sz)
3 diamond. Fade/n. Mid. Higher +300 rpm
sorry, chart doesn’t show well. But there’s so much confusion about what the diamonds translate too in launch, be nice to have real number comparisons
Anybody have any more experience with the single diamond? Is it same or lower spin than triple diamond? Same or lower in forgiveness? I’ve read the thread, but there is a lot of conflicting info, haha. Thanks!
Triple Diamond is the highest spin of the EF Diamond heads. I feel as spin drops, in most cases so does forgiveness.

Thanks. I’m trying to decide if I want to go in on a single or triple diamond. I’m thinking the Double will be too low spin and consequently too unforgiving for me. Do you know how much higher spin the 3D is on avg when compared to the 1D?
Personally I saw a 600 RPM difference between the triple and the double.
Well...since I couldn’t get the answers I was seeking, I just went ahead and bought a single and a double diamond EF SZ off of eBay. Once I get the heads in I will head over to my local club builder that has a trackman system and compare numbers on both heads with the same shaft and also put it up against my OG Epic SZ. I will post back on to this thread once I get the comparison completed.
Anyone know whats the difference in the Tour version of the regular Epic Flash?
The only difference I have found out is the lack of the line on the crown and also that there is a 8.5° option.
Would be interested in finding out if there is anything else that is different, maybe a CG difference or a trajectory bias?
I think Van Rooyen, Stenson and Min Woo Lee have had a win with this head.
I recently bought a double diamond 10.5. I was concerned about the low spin as well. Hit it for the first time on Sunday and absolutely love it. High flat tee shots. To me it looks to have a deeper face than the original flash sz. I couldn’t hit the triple to save my life. I’m using a diamana df 60tx.
This is the best analogy I have seen on the Diamond heads.
What were the rates? Obviously, it would vary person to person, but curious what your spin numbers were. I noticed you have the 3D in the bag per your sig. Just a better overall fit?
3D-2680. So really it was 570.
I'm getting old and losing speed. If I was still above 115 on a consistent basis the 2D would be a no brainer. But I'm more 108-110 these days and need the spin.
I'm also more accurate with the 3D and my fairways % is better by 11%.
Hope this helps,
Thanks Todd. I’m in the same ss range. Mine is arriving soon. Hoping it hits the 2200-2400 range for me. I love my LTD Pro, but I can’t consistently launch it or spin it enough even at 9.5-10*. I hit some bombs, but also some that fall out of the sky. I miss high and high toe and it seemed the triple diamond was the one to get. Thanks.
I ordered 2 Diamond... SS 112-113 my setup is usually 8.5 with good launch numbers, so if need be I could go to 9.5 but I think I have to take spin down, trying to get 2200 spin rate !!
The 2D ought to get you there.
Anyone still using their EFSZ Triple Diamond? If you could share your swing speed and shaft combo, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Looks like the 3D head is on CPO now, and with 30% off

Anyone intereted in trading their 2D for my 3D?
What is 'CPO"?

Anybody have a long term review of the single diamond? Playing 410 LST now but could use a bit more spin reduction while retaining some forgiveness.
Also bumping this thread to see if people have tested the single diamond vs the regular SZ. I have a good deal on one but wanted to see if the launch was the same or if it was higher than regular SZ. The info in this thread is all over the place.
What is it about the EFSZ that you're trying to improve on with the Diamond heads?
I loved the EFSZ Head. Got all my woods stolen like a month and a half ago. Callaway won’t build my driver like they did before. Now even saying no more EFSZ heads, but I can get them online. I just want to know if a Diamond Head is better. Single Diamond seeks to be similar to the regular from what I have read. Just want to know the differences.
I had the triple diamond and it was short, with way too much spin. I guess the point is get fitted for your own swing.
Any more info Lately from you guys on double and triple diamond? And any of you moving into the Mavrik Tour issue triple diamond?
Tested it. Pretty draw bias. Reasonably low spin. Still sounded pretty bad. Would be good to hot melt.
Anyone stilly using the triple diamond? What shaft do you have on it?
