New Maxfli C3 Golf Ball

louiless

Recommended Posts

Everybody knows that Maxfli was sold to Dick's Sporting Goods.

Maxfli just launched 3 new golf balls.

VT2 & VT3 (2 & 3 pieces golf balls)

and a New Tour ball : C3

On the USGA website http://www.usga.org/equipment/conforming_g.../gball_list.pdf at page 23 it appear that the VT balls are manufactured by Dick's but the C3 is still manufactured by Taylor Made / Adidas.

Interesting!

I think I will give the Maxfli C3 a try.

From the usga site it looks to be the 2007 TP Red with a different brand marking. Ill have to pic up a dozen and see if they fly like the 07 TP Reds

I bought a couple dozen of these for $22 apiece, had a coupon so ended up being about $35 total for two dozen.

These balls perform exceptionally well, pretty much the same as the TM balls. They are extremely durable too. I used the same one for 33 holes this week and it is still in good enough shape to use for chipping putting practice. I'll keep playing these since I destroy the covers on Pro V1s in about 9 holes...
they are identical to the 07 TM TP Red, which i am a big fan of.
The local GG manager told me this as well. Basicly rebranded it a Maxfli. I might try some...

yep. place the two side-by-side, and you will see that they are identical--same dimple pattern, with the only differences being the label and sidestamp. more to the point, we can corroborate this with information from the USGA Conforming Ball List:

Hi Guys,

Just some clarification as I'm heading to Minneapolis the weekend and I'll check out Dick's or GG if these balls are worth grabbing.

On Dick's site, they have a "C3 Gold" for $39.99/doz, which I am guessing (?!?) are new non-TM balls? Or, are these the C3's being discussed here?

And, anyone in the Minneapolis area who's bought some, or know a Dick's or GG that has em?

Thanks for the help!

Box is kind of a black/red hologram with the Maxfli logo (not bright red), and is a tall square box (same configuration as Nike uses for the One).

I found them in the "second" aisle beside the Maxfli Tour Fires. They were actually kind of hard to notice, and I only saw them on my second time through. I actually noticed the yellow ticket with the $14.97 on it before I noticed the box.

Good luck!

found em!

i walked through a different dicks tonight and no dice. just those maxfli revolution crap with the RAW balls. i asked a guy and he took me to the $39.99 version. as i was leaving i saw about 10doz maxfli tour fires on the bottom shelf almost hidden and then there were the c3s.

these C3 must be the TM reds before LDP right? demples all look the same. i assume the expensive gold and black c3s are the new LDP red and blacks?

also, picked up another doz of the tour fires. those were one of my favorite balls of all time. they were only $12.xx/doz.

played this and the tour fire side by side today. the C3 is 'clickier' than the tour fire.

i enjoyed the tour fire much more. felt softer and impact felt so smooth. off the putter i felt the same. the C3 was clickish off the face while the tour fire felt muted and smooth.

for $13/doz there isnt a better ball than the tour fire. i say this everytime i buy a doz, but im gonna have to go stock up. they cant get much less and they are literally running low on those.

I got a $10 reward certificate from using one of the 300 bonus points with any purchase a month back on a clearance I-mix shaft, so I decided to use it on the C3 then somehow I got $3 off on top of my reward certificate so I got a dozen for $2, and I really like them so far. Even if I didn't it was worth it.

My GG had like 20 dozen of the old C3, I might have to pick some more up even at $15 dollars a dozen

TOUR FIRE FOR $13!!!

If the C3 is really a TM TP Red (haven't played mine yet), then I think it's a far better ball than the Tour Fire which I wasn't very impressed with. They simply don't have the same greenside manners in my experience.

ahh man, see for me it was the opposite. i bought the C3's all stoked ready to play em, and when i first hit one, was kinda meh. after about 3 holes with it, i was liking my D2 Fell more than the C3. i dont care for "clicky" golf balls and to me the C3 is one. the Tour Fire was about the same distance off the irons and driver or at least i couldnt notice a difference really, but the softness of the Tour Fire wins out for me. its is my favorite ball to putt with and ship with to date...still
