Winters Here

Looks like the weather is getting nasty and no golf for sometime. I just ordered two clubs to round out my bag, and they will be wall ornaments for awhile. The golf itch is killing me, I am going to have to make a trip this year to somewhere warmer.

I golfed on New Years Day here in NY and will probably be restricted to sim golf for quite a while now. I was really hoping for a repeat of 2016 when we had no snow cover for almost the entire winter.

6” snow on the ground in Chicago and our high for next 10 days is forecasted in the 20s. Heated Driving range and sim may be our best choice as well. Also may have to browse eBay for that one club which will make 2019 a season to remember ( hope over experience :-).

Quite nice here today. Ended up taking my jacket off as three layers was ample. Hopefully we don't get a repeat of last year's late winter snow. Hoping for a normal winter, thank-you-very-much.

Played January in Ohio golf yesterday. Whistling Straits on the sim. Not real golf but better than no golf. Then, this morning, couldn’t get the snow blower started so shoveled 9” deep snow and I’ve got a long, wide driveway

There is nothing more aggravating-planning a trip to the indoor dome, knowing theres a new foot of snow down, and the snow blower won't start.

Got rid of a 20 year old deere blower and picked up a no name with an electric start. So far, third winter, so good.

I don't mind the time off truthfully....i used to hate it, but now it's nice to actually sleep in 5 months a year. Plus i get to work on my ballstriking at my local golf dome.

Yep 20 below here (Celsius) and a foot of snow over the last 2 days, outdoor golf season is officially over. Cant complain though as we played right up until a week ago.

It was -2F actual temperature on my back deck this morning with a healthy wind. Car doors were frozen shut, driveway has a few inches of snow over solid ice you could skate on. Yes, Winter has arrived and the extended forecast doesn't look bright for golf. Even too cold for me to consider going skiing. Such is life here in January and February. For those like me that have limited interests it's a long season.

One of my colleagues is currently on a three month/immigration visa in Toronto and he was saying that it's a bit chilly at the moment image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

He did complement you on having better snow than us (solid enough to drive on) but was a bit unhappy about his beard getting frozen on his way to the coffee shop image/derisive.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':derisive:' />

Today it was 80° here in FL, but when I tee off Saturday the high will be 63°! I'll have 3 layers on for that sh!t. Seriously, I do feel bad for my golfing bros up north. As fast as time is going through y'all will be teeing off in no time.

My last round was first week of October. Next one might be toward end of April if we have a good spring, other than 5 rounds booked in Cancun end of Feb.

I usually get 8 hours a month on a Sim, so hopefully that is keeping some kind of tuning.

The temp here hasn't been too bad this winter, but it has been very wet. I've played less this winter than any winter in recent memory.

pounded here in Iowa over the last 8 days, probably close to a foot of snow, and sub-zero (or is it SZ on here?) wind chills, brutal.

They're opening the course again this morning after two days of freezing rain. High 35 with 20mph winds. I think I'll pass.

Not sure we'll be playing this weekend. Forecast is 6c, gusty (42mph) and light rain. That's all three boxes ticked image/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Update. Threat of rain has been removed. But the wind and cold remain. It's on, boys!

Think I may try the Nashville topgolf soon as a birthday present to myself. Should I expect it to be more driving range with beer or a golf game? Seen Tuesdays they have specials.
