Heard back from Ping about the spec'd out 3 iron crossover, they will build it to my desired specs, but doing so would cause it to come in around C5-C6 swing weight he said. Could be remedied with a lot of lead tape, maybe a tip weight...or both, going to have to think on this one. Tensei Pro Blue 80TX shaft is no upcharge, the 90TX is available but he said it would be an upcharge, not sure on that price.

What tipping do they do standard on that shaft in that head?

I am not sure what their standard tipping is, I would think it would go in line with whatever the recommendations are from Mitsu. which is probably around 1'' or so for a 3 iron

Thanks. I plan to call ping later. I have a pro blue 90tx sitting in a corner begging to be put into something. It's been tipped 2 inches so it's either going to go into a crossover or hang out longer...

I have a Tour AD 105 in my UDI right now that I would be tempted to put into the crossover, just curious if Ping will have this thing tricked up at all to make installation more difficult and also what the tip diameter will be.

Went ahead and hit this hybrid today while warming up for a driver test. It was really easy to hit. Really point and shoot. Thought I would be keeping my g400, not so sure now.

I was hitting the 17 degree. Feel is great and it’s a rocket launcher. The stock shaft is pretty long.

I hit the 4 crossover and the 3 hybrid. Both were very good.

Got my 410 26 degree today and hit a few shots with it. Very windy out today but it feels really nice.

Went to GolfMart to try out 5 woods as I have been using a 3 driving iron bent to 18* but want something more versatile for me and even wondering of a 4 wood for off the deck and my 13.5 ts2 off the tee. On a whim saw the g410 hybrid 19*. It was the stock Alta 70s but wanted to see if the hybrid would be a hook machine like most hybrids are for me. Hit a few shots and loved the feel and was carrying better than some of the 5 woods I tried. Looked down and was glad to see an open face and realized it was set to the -1.5* setting. Most of the shots were straight or a slight fade so I am looking to order one with the EF black or Tensei pro blue. I couldnt believe a 17.5 hybrid was so easy to hit and elevate!

Just ordered the 17* crossover from my club. Ship date is not until Mar 19 which is a little disappointing. Requested upcharge grip and custom length but shaft is the stock Tensei 80TX. Anyone else preorder one and have a longer than expected wait time?

Hit the 410 Crossover today. Wasn't looking for it but man did I like it. Was going to buy one on the spot but they had no lefties in stock and they wouldn't sell me the demo.

MpH5 is lower offset than T-MB in the long irons.

Had a chance to try (indoors) all the stock shaft offerings in the 4 hybrid: Alta CB stiff, Tour 85 R&S, Tensei Pro Blue 80 stiff, and EvenFlow Black 85 5.5 & 6.0. Surprisingly, the EvenFlow Black 85 6.0 was the best of the bunch. Excellent feel and dispersion and better than expected launch for a shaft advertised as 'low'. The hosel adjustments definitely work as advertised. There isn't a ball flight these can't achieve or correct.

I can see myself with at least two in the bag this year.

I had the same experience today. Warmed up with my current gamer, JPX 900.

Hit the G410 4 hybrid with every shaft they had available, the face on this thing feels so good, nice little snap when struck well.

The stock shaft felt great but dispersion was an issue... too light, probably my issue with the Mizuno too.

The Tour shaft felt pretty good as well, numbers were OK, dispersion slightly better.

Didn't like the Tensei shaft, just didn't fit my swing, everything went right on me.

The Evenflow Black 85 felt the best by far, so smooth! Produced the best numbers, nice little baby draws all day long, and about 10 yds longer to boot.

This shaft combined with this head just feels right. I went back through all the shafts a few times just to make sure it was the shaft and not my swing getting better throughout the session and came out with the same results.

Been reluctant to pull my JPX recently due to a couple of reasons, 1) Even with the adjustability of the JPX I just cannot seem to find the sweet spot so I've been having issues with accuracy, and 2) its not much longer than my 5 iron, so I usually just use that or jump to my 5W if I need more.

Hopefully the G410 will cure both issues as it seemed to be carrying the distance I need to fill that gap and the dispersion with the Evenflow was much, much better.

Ordered it up today, no ETA given but I sure hope its not mid-March as noted in some previous posts. Even if it is I think it will be worth the wait.

Mine arrived yesterday and my pro called me this morning. Im assuming the rep initial was thinking hybrid when he quoted the date to my pro based on other reports that the hybrid is the actual club on back order. Either way, I am incredible excited to already have it in hand and looking forward to hitting it.

I ordered my 2 hybrid today. I was told that it would be about 10 or 11 days. I am guessing it will come in about the same time as the g410 lst fairway which was quoted as 3/7 delivery. I ordered the tour shaft as I already have so many upgrade hybrid shafts and didn't want to pay an upcharge. My fitter got three extra tips each for the fairway and the hybrid so we can experiment. With this set at the flattest setting (3 degrees flat) it is hard to miss it left unless you are trying to hit a big hook.
My ITB changes too frequently to keep up with it here.

I apologize for the confusion, when I checked in with engineering they did not have the information to give to me. I reached out to them and let them know that we have a consumer that would really like to know the offset numbers. So they have given them to me and they are listed below:

    2XR-.215

    3XR-.195

    4XR-.180

Again I apologize for the misinterpretation on my part and we hope that you will still consider our customer service team to be one of the best.

Happy to sneak out for about 40 min on Trackman.

Safe to say that at 1* loft increase and flat setting wasn’t seeing too many left of Center.

Trackman optimizer had me in the blue across the board with about 245 carry and 260+ overall.

Ordered a G410 2 Crossover with the Tensei Blue 80HY TX.

Hit inside on the GC2HMT and initial impressions are strong to fairly strong. I enjoy driving irons and this one is among the longest (though is 1* stronger than my PXG, New Level, and Cobra DIs) and most forgiving. Pure strikes feel great, mishits can get a bit clunky... similar to the i500.

One thing that surprised me is the stock 2 length is fairly long at nearly 40.5", about an inch longer than my other DIs. I was apprehensive at first but those fears quickly went away as even mishits were serviceable.

This thing is LONG and the shaft/head combo is low spin giving great rollout (on the launch monitor). Trying to figure out if it's a mix of the stronger loft and longer shaft, but I am getting 3-wood carry and great roll-out, around 3K spin. At least 10-15 yards longer than my next longest DI. Very impressed considering how easy it is to hit.

It has quite a bit of offset, and I did notice this at address. But the sole width and overall size is very appealing.

True test is when I hit it on the course and I will report back, but great first impression.

The 410 line in general is very appealing to me aesthetics wise but the massive turbulators keep me from splurging (thankfully)

I wouldn't get so hung up on the turbulators... I got over them like 5 years ago with my first G30.

The performance of the head itself is very much worth getting used to the crown.

Much better than looking down on a two-toned head or carbon fiber that looks like its moving in the sunlight.

That's way more distracting to me than the turbulators, which actually are very effective at framing the ball.

Went to my local golf store today and hit both the crossover and the hybrid. Both were amazing.

    Looks:

-Crossover is just stunning. Much nicer than the G400.

-The Hybrid is decent. Not too big but not small. It looks like a well proportioned hybrid with turbulators.

    Feel/Sound:

-Crossover is much improved over previous years. Definitely still hollow but more muted than I thought it would be. Overall, I really like it.

-The hybrid sounded pretty good. Honestly, I really never liked hybrids but I would try them out every so often. I like the sound of this one though. Not as high pitched as some of the other ones on the market.

    Performance:

-The Crossover is awesome. If you want a versatility, this is it. I had a lot of fun hitting this club. Whatever you wanted to do, it would do it. Plenty of height if you need it and enough spin to control it. I thought it was much more forgiving than the previous iterations as well. This was really a joy to hit.

-The Hybrid was a pleasant surprise. The adjustability on the hosel made this club much more versatile than I has assumed. Default is much higher than the crossover, but you can still flight it low if need be. Not as long as other hybrids, but I like that. I want a club to fit a specific gap and this one does consistently. Obviously, this was much more forgiving than the Crossover-but that is not a bad thing.

    Overall:

I think Ping created 2 really amazing options. I went into a fitting today and the Crossover beat out everything else I had tried (woods, utility irons and other hybrids) from a variety of manufacturers. Once we got the right shaft, the performance was really consistent. I tried the G410 Hybrid on a whim really but was pleasantly surprised. The adjustability did wonders. Flattening out the lie angle really helped the hooking tendencies I had with the other hybrids I had tried and the distance was spot on what I needed between my 3W and my 4 iron. If I was playing more, I would have bought the Crossover; however, I don't get out there as much as I would like. I found the hybrid to be much more forgiving with very similar performance. Ping has a couple of great contenders.

Does anyone actually change their hybrid loft ON the course? Seems pretty gimicky.
  • CatoctinCatoctin Members Posts: 34 ✭✭
Well you aren’t allowed to change the setup on the course. Its about setting it up to be the best for your set. Gapping, etc. You should get fit for it, set it up to fit your gap and swing and just enjoy.

    Considering it's illegal, no.

    = quite heavy offset numbers.

I had inquired about the offset figures as well. It looks like Ping finally added the numbers to the G410 and G400 Crossover specs on the website. They've also added the offset figures for the original G Crossovers (just change the last part of the web address and this club still shows up event though there is no link).
