Your Favorite milled face putter?

The more and more putts I hit, the more I prefer nearly flat faces with little or no milling whatsoever. Love the very audible clickety-clack sound a Srixon XV makes on flat steel. Smack!

TM 2016 M2 12*(-2 setting) - OG Grafalloy Blue X, 43.5"

TEE XCG7 16.5* 4w, OG Grafalloy Blue S, 41.75"

Wilson D9 18* 4i, KBS Max-R, 39.5”

Cobra King OS 4-G, TT XP95 R300, -.5
Mack Daddy CB 56.14(2* weak)  60.12(3*  weak)

If I can choose, I like a smooth, fine milling too. The audible feedback when making perfect contact is addicting. But pretty much any putter that I can find the sweet spot on usually feels good enough to me. I'm super picky about my putters, but interestingly enough I can live with the feel of most of them, as long as they are not too muted.

Which models do you recommend? Are there any under $500?

Yessir

all would be under 500 even in great condition.

try a gamer condition first to see if you like them

The only downside is if you're a heavy putter lover

the black ox and oil can mostly came at 330 hw, but you can get the special "asian spec" versions of those in 350. that however will cost you, and they're harder to find, and more expensive. You might be north of 500 in those specific versions if they're in decent unrestored shape.

now the milspec pro plat version is nice, because it comes in 330, 340 and 350. the 350 is more expensive, but even in great shape you'll be able to find one much less than 500. it's a little clickier than the oil can and black ox versions, but it is maintenance free.

give em a roll! I think it's really where Cameron shines.

Where is the best place to buy one of these putters? Ebay?

Ping Vault and Vault 2.0 lines for me. Had a Vault Voss a while back and sold it to give a go with some mallet shapes. Just cleaned house and picked up a Vault 2.0 B60.

To me, the feel is great and gives responsive feedback. I'm also a believer in TR Groves - always felt like they were on par with what EVNROLL has done.

This...Bettinardi BB32cb. The feel off the face is perfect. Solid, good feedback, soft but not too soft, and a great sound.

I really have a Top-5 versus one, however if I could only keep one of these, it would be the dual milled Staff 8802, and that would not only be over the other four listed/pictured, however also over my Miura 008, Betti #8 & the four Napas. These putters don’t even crack the Top-5, lol.

These are my Top-5:

~ 8802, dual milled face

~ Odyssey Black Series Tour Design #8

~ Mac VIP Ironmaster 600

~ Scotty T Newport Beach

The 8802’s dual milled face is my favorite of the group and it has an amazing soft click, with the Odyssey #8 being a tad firmer in its sound however not in a negative way as these two are my top 2 heel shafted blades, keeping 4 Napas in the cedar closet, two of em T’s and one a custom and also my Miura KM-008, which while a nice putter no doubt, one, for that amount of dough it should be nice and secondly, in my opinion at least, it’s not as nice as the putter that Miurasan designed it after, the Mac VIP Ironmaster 600, which is in my Top-5, and was in my bag nearly 40 years after its introduction. Those Mac VIP blades are Iconic! I’ve posted comparative pics of both along with the Mac VIP TFP 90-1 in other threads.

Stay well Gents?

I have an 8802 as well and it is HIGHLY Under rated as a putter. I was going to sell mine as I have gravitated towards the pings, but I may keep it in case I go into a slump and need a change. I do love the 8802. Great great feel > @Forged4ever said:
