I demo'd every major hybrid at a demo day at the range and found the 20 degree FL HI to be the best. The ball flight is straighter, without the fear of hitting a snap hook like I seem to do with most hybrids. The 20 degree seems to play much longer and with a lower boring traj than you would think it does for that loft. I would say the 20 plays like a 17 or 18 degree.

I agree with Moecat...switched out of a 585H...wanted to love it but it lacked the feel of other Titleist clubs...CLK is a peach...stock shaft is on the whippy side but I got the NVS X as a no-charge upgrade from Mizuno and I now finally have a hybrid I can trust...Neutral face...easy to work both ways with a high but piercing trajectory.

Another winner for Mizuno. I constantly duck hooked my Taylor Made 19* rescue and this club was straight as can be.

Just picked up a 20 and 23 degree 2007 models. Even after one range session I can say these are great clubs, they go a little on the high side but thats intended (Fli Hi lol). They set up great, can be works a little both ways, and damn do they go far and land soft. Great 3 and 4 replacement as they are silly easy to hit.

Anyone know what the tip size is? I picked up a 17 and 20 degree hybrid with original steel shafts. My clubmaker says it's a .355 taper tip. Is this true? I could have sworn it was a .370

I just looked on the Mizuno site and the tip is .370.

**Edit - The site says it's a .370 tip, but I just looked into getting a shaft replaced, and the guy told me is was a .355 tapered tip, so I had to have a shaft specially ordered :)

Would the stock stiff shaft be good enough for me? My driver speed is 110-113mph.  Or would you suggest different?

edit: I bought the the 17 degree and hit it pretty good.  I hit it about 260-270.  The courses lately have been a little dry but nothing rock hard.  I dont have to worry about a 3wood now.  Pretty good off the tee too.

i just picked up the 17* version. very nice. I have yet to find a hybrid that I didn't hookt he piss out of until now. very nice setup and sits square. I love my 2 iron, but this just might the hybrid that finally knocks it out of the bag (and the hybrid hits farther, too).

:partytime2:I've been using one of these in the 26* 5 hybrid for well over a year now and it's been fantastic. Like with so many who've written above, I found most of the other hybrids on the market (I've tested over 20, in the past 2 years) to be "hook machines". I was at a Mizuno demo day and had never heard much about these (it was before they made the 2008 Hotlist) but I'd hit just about every other club they had there, so I figured I might as well give these a go. Man was I glad I did! Firstly, they sat square to the target at address, which I really liked and needed (to to my natural draw/hook) and then the feel at impact was sensational. Then there was the ball flight. Long, high, penetrating and straight. From having zero expectations, I was blown away!

I started playing my own in the 5 hybrid very soon after, which I hoped would become my 5 iron replacement, but these hit the ball so damn far it became my 4 iron replacement instead.

Suffice to say, I'm still looking for an easy to hit 5 iron/5 iron replacement that I don't hook, even after more than a year. I'd love it if they made these in a 6 as well. I played this model in the 4 for a while, as well, and on one occasion found I could hit it almost as long as my 4 wood, but it wasn't as easy for me to hit as the 5, so I sold it. This is certainly a club for mid handicaps and lower and the shafts are pretty solid, even in reg flex. These especially suit those who are not too tall, as they have a relatively flat lie angle (about the same as the Ping G10), but about 2 degrees lower/flatter than some others. If you play irons with standard lie angle or flatter, this club's lie angle will probably be ideal for you. If you're taller, or are better suited to longer than standard irons and/or more upright sitting clubs, the Nike Sasquatch Sumo hybrids play very similarly and are more upright, especially in the 24* 4 hybrid. I have the 17-degree version with a JavlnFX Mh-7 stiff flex shaft and off the tee it hits (for me anyways) with the distance of a 3-wood. The face on these hybrids are super hot. I find it a bit difficult to hit off the deck but that probably has more to do with me needing to adjust my swing for the lower lie. While at the driving range during the honeymoon phase, my first shot was off the deck and I hit it about 240-250 yards and about 30-40 feet high, needless to say I fell in love immediately and the club will stay in my bag for a long time to come. I'm currently shopping for a 23-degree version to help close the gap between the 17-degree and my 3-iron.
