Need help to stop scooping the ball

Hi there, I've attached a video and was wondering if you could help me to prevent from scooping the ball up rather than compressing it. I have looked at various of videos online and have tried to feel like I'm leaning the shaft forward at impact but nothing seems to work.

Also, watch Monte's videos on the takeaway and backswing cos you have some funky moves going on. If you didn't cast it like that you'd never hit the ball.

Hard to see much from that camera angle, but arms are trailing badly.

One thing that can be seen is arm swing is too long in th backswing and sequencing in transition needs work.

Might be other issues causing those, but video angle is not the best.

Hey Lawrence, maybe a simple approach might work.

Try the towel drill-

Set a towel about a dollar bill in front if your ball.

The goal is to hit both the ball and towel. Since youâ€™re scooping, the only way youâ€™re going to hit the towel is transferring more weight to your left side and to keep the chest turning.

This drill, like almost any drill I use, needs to be done at half speed to feel and groove the change. Full swings should follow only after you are consistently successful with this initial move.

You're leading your downswing with the unhinging of your right wrist and firing your right heel up...allowing your hips to "spin out",......instead of getting your right elbow "in front of" your right hip.

Try to roll to the inside back half of your right heel, which will keep your heel from firing up so soon. Lead from the top with your right elbow, while "holding" your wrist set
