Traveling with your golf clubs

Does anyone think it necessary to insure their golf clubs while traveling? What if they get lost or stolen? Going down to Florida soon and wondering if I’m being overprotective due to some new clubs in my bag lol

I think you are covered on your homeowners insurance

No clue, but is a premium or deductible worth it?

Would be brutal from a $ perspective, but buying new sticks is the best.

Well yea the homeowners I believe is usually the $500 deductible but I wonder if there are separate plans you can get for a cheaper premium

Don't sweat it. Your normal insurance will cover it but assuming you are on a golf trip the odds of clubs getting stolen is very, very low.

And if they do, just buy some new ones.

I've traveled with clubs about three times every year for 30 years and never had a problem.

I've never had an issue when traveling. But I do carry insurance through State Farm on them. I don't have it exclusively for traveling but it is covered. Typically a little more than 1% of the declared value, no deductible, for one year. Can cover electronics like a rangefinder.

Don't put anything here, it will likely be taken down.

Home owners/renter's should cover it, but I've never had issues. Use a good travel bag...pack the clubs properly and use a TSA approved lock.

Get a Personal Articles Policy. Annual Premium is ~1% of the insured value most places. I have my bag insured for $2500 so $25/year. That’s less than a box of golf balls. Don’t just do it for travel, do it anyways. No deductible. If the clubs are lost or stolen, they’ll get replaced no problem. Not sure why any serious golfer doesn’t have one.

^ I've lost two bags in six years. Better to have it and not use it than not have it and wish you did.

We had two bags disappear on a trip about 15 years ago never to be seen again. From that point on, I send them to my destination via UPS of FedEx. They even have protective packaging designed specifically for golf bags. And I have found it to be cheaper than baggage fees on an airline.
