I'm curious too.

I'm a mid-spin player, but I much prefer all the spin I can get around the greens.

I have a dozen iX coming and am eager to try those, but am definitely interested in the i.

My past experiences with Callaway balls (minus the old blue) weren't too great. Mushy and a club short :clapping: but I've heard nothing but good things about these...

The tour ix is the best ball I have ever hit. The only thing that comes close was the original pro v1x imo. I tried this ball with a new Callaway FT-5 and even on a bad left ankle ( I am right handed; couldn't shift weight) I was hitting 20 yards past my old 907D2/ new Pro v1x combo, about 315. By the way, I played the entire round with just one ball. It is the most durable high end ball I have hit.

The iX is definitely not mushy, I actually think it's kinda hard. But it's very long, but still spins a bit around the greens. Around the greens I prefer the Nike ONE Black though, it just spins more while still being pretty long off the tee.

Ok well i played today...I will be very honest with you all. I went through 8 balls today! If you have new wedges with box grooves these things shred pretty good. Ball spun a bit less off the tee and felt ok around the greens.

I was pretty excited when I tee'd off but lost a lot of interest during the round. Almost felt like I didnt have control of this golf ball.

Id take the prov1 anyday.

Hmm..

Kinda disappointed. Is this iX quite a bit better?

By the way, thanks for the honest review... that goes miles with me coming from you.

Can you elaborate more a bit on your round?

IMHO, I think giving up on the ball is premature. A new ball will take time to learn your yardages and how it will react around the greens. And new sharp grooves is going to take the cover off any ball!

I disagree, My pro v holds up great, Ive also played Nike, and bridgestone, and srixon...etc...Ive been plahying golf a long time and have played with a lot of Golf Balls. Every player has their own "feel" for a ball. I had played the Prov1x for 4 Years, I just switched to the Prov1 late last year and loved it. I was being very honest with my review, and im sure when others finally play it they will disagree with me. Thats fine, everyone is different.
