... great. thanks to big-wiesy and ktfgolfer.

interestingly to my eye, the two pics look different. the first makes the j33r look like it's kind of an odd shape, quite deep front to back like a 580 or r5, but with some face progression and bulge and roll. the second pic makes it looks pretty classicly taylormade ... very round (but classicly appealingly) shape with a typically very flat-looking tm type face (i.e. very little bulge and roll).

what's the real story on this one? wish i could see one live.

nice pics ... thanks again.

wow, thats a sweet looking driver. I like the no alignment mark look. anyone got pics of a j33p? I prefer the pear shape to the round shape, it looks more aggresive

Tomorrow I'll have pics of both drivers...the P and the R.

pga apprentice,

how you liking those j33 combos with the s400's ... do you find this a good shaft for them? does it help keep the flight down? some have suggested that these sticks are high hitters ala mp 33's ... do you find this to be true or no?

those are some really nice looking irons for sure ... this coming from a guy playing ts mr 23's.

Mike,

The J33 are indeed high hitters. However, that's just what I've been looking for. When I went through my swing change, I flattened out my plane and consequently lost carry distance. These have given me the added distance I was looking for. The S400 have been my favorite shafts since I played the Precept Tour Premiums many moons ago. They do help control the trajectory, but the ballflight is definitely as high as the MP33s. I thought I would be headed back to my Srixon I302s, but these sticks continue to make a firm stand in the bag.

pga appentice,

thanks for the quick response. i too played precept tp's for some time (still play the long irons from time to time). mine have x-100s soft-stepped. i find those to hit on a nice penetrating trajectory (i'm a high hooker) ... i take it the j33 combos hit significantly higher???

man, i wanted those to be my next irons but if they are as high-hitting as the mp 33's i don't think they'll be right for me.

The combos hit higher than my I302s and my LT's before that. I never had the MP33s in the bag, but did demo them extensively. The trajectory between those and the J33s is very similar.

the the "P" is more a pear shape and the "R" is more whopper like from the sole. there seems to be more displacment around the rear heel area compared to the "P" imho

I demoed the "P" again today i like it very much, very soild, but I am planning on staying with my g2 for now. the difference wasn't that great that made me feel i needed to spend another $300 on a new driver.

i am thinking about exchanging my g2 for a ignite 460 though...
