Please delete if this has been mentioned before. I did a search and found nothing so... here goes.

Had no idea these were for up for pre-sale already, and at a discount at that.

I'm not quite sure what's going on here.

I've seen these irons and drivers (747 series) referred to as 2018 models. So "pre-order" ??? Never saw them last year. I did see the 737 series of woods and irons at Edwin Watts last year but those are clearly different clubs.

Only first saw the Honma 747 driver in the demo rack about 3-4 weeks ago and the 2 iron sets on the sales rack since. The drivers are as good as anything else this year; at least that I've tried (haven't tried TM yet). The "blade type player's CB" forged iron is a bit unforgiving. The CB is pretty forgiving but with a 28.5* 7 iron and I'm not prepared to go that far yet.

I'm sure somebody knows the real story. Hope they post it.

Wonder if you can custom order clubs for a split set, isn't Rose playing a short set of them?
    Glove: ML
    Tees: 2 3/4
    Towel: white
    Repair tool: metal
Ball Marker: largest poker chip in the world
    Iron headcovers: wait, what?

    The feedback system is annoying

This is actuslly just what I was looking for yesterday, and couldnt find it. They might be too much club for me but that wouldnt be stopping me from buying. On the other hand, thoughts on Modus being the only shaft available?

While still expensive. It is not bad considering Japanese irons sets like to sell 5-P for 1,300 and up. So yea 1200 for an actual full set isn’t bad but not cheap.

If looks could kill though. Beautiful

    What’s Casey playing?

The 747 line was released in Japan last year, in early November IIRC. I saw the demo wedges, woods, and hybrids in the local golf shop back then.

However, the blade was not released then. I am guessing they were holding off until Rose was signed and they were ready to release blades with his name on them.

Incidentally, the backs of the wedges look a lot like the backs of these blades; Rose's Honma wedges are something completely different.
    Driver: Ping G400 Tour 65S
4w: TaylorMade R9 stock Fujikura Motore X flex
7w TaylorMade V-steel, Quadra Fire Express RB 6SX
Hybrid: RomaRo iBrid 23* Attas EZ 85S
    Irons (4i-PW): Wilson fg-62 S300 4/5-PW or MP4 Yoro Modus 125X 5-PW
    Wedges: Callaway MD2 T-grind combination of 52*, 56*, 58*, 60*
    Putter: Mac Jack Nicklaus Muirfield

Old stuff: Tons of persimmon and older irons.

    Marsh-

It appears Justin Rose's new Honma irons suffer from the same affliction as his previous TaylorMade P-730 Proto irons-

After all, it's not like some left-handed golfer won a PGA Tour Event recently.......for the 5th time.

...and by some chance, made it back to back PGA Tour wins for Left Handed golfers at Pebble Beach. Ted Potter Jr, if you're scoring at home.
