How long could you go without hitting a new club you bought?

So back in November I bought a Callaway rogue SZ driver, but due to Wisconsin weather I haven't hit it. I have hit other rogues during a fitting but not mine since I bought it. I'll be honest, it is driving me nuts.

How long do you think you guys could go?

I have a whole iron set in the garage I bought back in September. Haven't moved from the bucket I put them in. (Admittedly I am waiting to re-grip them. Old MacGregor iron set to use in my all Mac retro bag.)

How long do you think you guys could go?

Until this winter I was in the same boat as you, i.e. any after season purchases had to wait until the first range opened.

However, this year I committed to two hours a week of simulator time to keep the rust off over the winter. I got a new 4W for Christmas and hit it on Dec 27. Boo-yah!

Not sure if this was addressed to me, but 20 minutes.

I got my new F9 driver 2 weeks ago, and I am itching to hit it. Unfortunately, between work and horrible weather, it could be months before I actually get to hit it. It is also driving me alittle nuts. I have considered arranging a trip to Arizona, as I have a few friends who belong to Whisper Rock and Desert Mountain, but I don't think I am going to find time to get out there.

I got a new m2. Yeah, I know it’s an old model already. Still, I take it out in my backyard and swing it. Then I kick off the snow from my boots and take my parka off and put it back in my bag. Sigh.

6 days maybe? If it's a putter or wedge, I'll plop balls around in the living room or something. If it's an iron, I'll take dry swings or whatever when nobody is around. Driver... hell, I'll choke down and make dry swings.

36 hours and 25 minutes. Bad joke i know. As soon as possible. Whe I lived in Minnesota that would be months. Now living in Arizona the answer would be "tomorrow".

The quickest was probably 10 minutes at the most . I don’t think I’ve waited longer than 24 hours.

About a year and a half.

Conversely, I've lasted about four days before selling a club I didn't hit a single time.

The implications are concerning...

It might have been September or October when I bought a brand-new Ping Kushin putter that I was REALLY excited about after finding it on sale at a "big box" store. Couldn't wait to at least get on a real putting green to get acquainted. Problem is, the very next day both golf courses near me aerated their greens so I had to wait something like three weeks before getting even a few putts in. I tried, but the greens were still very bumpy and then....Seattle's notorious winter rains set in. (If you're like me, practicing putting on a soaked practice green is useless.)

Now, of course, the entire Pacific Northwest is covered in more than a foot of snow so it could literally be March or April before the new putter gets a fair shake. Put me down for six months.

Winter in general sucks, not being able to hit new to me gear really sucks.

Got me some Miz mp-53's & 60's, epon 302's[2 sets], ping i500's, G400 5&9 woods, ping stealth wedge set, yet to hit, so ya I feel your pain Lefty. So.......I'm thinking it's going to be 4-5 months for me.

Today about an hour. Ordered one F9 iron built to my specs from Cobra. Arrived today and we have had monsoonal rains all night and day up until four pm. Couldn’t wait and headed to local park with a couple of old balls. Had to hit it and glad I did. Nice high boring flight with great feel. Hope to head to the range or course this weekend. Now if I could only hit my PXG Gen 2 driver which arrived Tuesday.

My F9 driver came in today, we have a range with heated bays so I'll be hitting it this weekend...

Bought a 1-P set of baby blades a year and a half ago. Still wrapped in plastic in their box. So, quite awhile.

I’ve gone full years. Hip surgeries do that lol. But I’ve hit chips on one leg for hours

I have 6 drivers, 4 sets of irons and 2 new hybrids here that I haven't been able to hit yet. I'm almost 9 weeks post op from a major knee surgery (quad tendon reattachment) and was on crutches and in a brace 5 weeks prior to that. I'm only 1 week off the crutches and out of the brace. I still use a cane when in public and my surgeon doesn't want me rushing the healing process even though I'm well ahead of the curve on strengthening. I'm still 2-3 months out from getting to return to work. I also have a new putter on the way, but I'll damn sure hit it when it gets here.

I had total hip replacement March of '17 but was back to work, with zero restrictions in 5 weeks from that.

You should had waited to buy in spring as the price would drop even further.

my longest was 4 months, where I bought some irons in October then didn't get a chance to use them until end of last month.

Sometimes forever.

I have an Epic Flash Sub Zero on order. Been waiting for a week and I'm chomping at the bit. It should arrive in another week. The shop I bought it from has a range so as soon as it comes in I'll be buying some range balls to hit!

Forever, only a true club ho will buy something and sell it before they've ever even hit it.

I'm all over the board on this, some times its however long it takes to get from Nevada Bob's to the range, on the other hand I have bought some clubs, they sat around awhile[couple weeks] without being hit and I think "why did I buy that?" and they are sold without ever hitting a golf ball.

I played my G400 a couple days after I bought it but then developed hosel strikes so bad all across the bag that I couldn't bring myself to swing it without the fear of snapping it for about a month.

Put your bed mattress flat against the wall and tee one up. If you have low ceilings it helps train the muscles to flatten out your swing and force a draw
