M6 low spin?

Is the m6 considered a low spin head say vs g400lst? With the m5 you have adjustability for spin to some degree but how does the m6 stack up?

Honestly just about every driver in the last few years is low spin I feel.

Id say its relatively low spin considering its forgiveness.

Definetly lower spin then the m4. Its about the same as my 8.5* M3 with the weights in the back.

As soon as we restock on the tour heads in a couple weeks, I will post the thread with all the data and comparisons in it.

Based on the head construction it looks like they were trying actively to improve upon the M4. The M4 was a pretty high MOI driver but was also quite high CG, the M6 looks to be addressing that with the sole design and weight location which would definitely pull the CG down and perhaps increase MOI as well. All together, probably a bit lower spin and maybe a touch more forgiving as well.

The M6 is not considered a low spin head and will spin more than the LST

M6 is all about forgiveness (usually means more spin). Spin will be up in this head compared to the M5 depending on where you put the weight.

Not lower spin as the LST. if you're looking for that you may need to look at the M5 tour head.

M6 is all about forgiveness (usually means more spin). Spin will be up in this head compared to the M5 depending on where you put the weight.

This fairly binary way of looking at spin gets brought up a lot and it is important to note that is is more more nuanced than this.

A "low spin" head can either be such due to CG location or MOI, or both combined. MOI determines how much spin will vary based on strike and CG location will determine what percentage of the face will produce different results. High MOI increases forgiveness by decreasing the amount spin will vary based on strike which means low strikes won't be as spinny, but high strikes won't have as much spin decrease either. Low CG means it is easier to produce "high" strikes.

Another thing to consider; high MOI means a more rearward CG which can increase dynamic loft at impact due to the CG causing more forward deflection as it tries to catch up to the shaft plane. This can be compensated for by lowering the head loft however.

The most important part of all this is strike location though. A head that is considered "low spin" due to lower MOI will be HIGHER spin if struck improperly. Your potential spin is lower if you can strike it correctly but higher if you don't, higher risk/reward. A low CG head with higher MOI will be more consistent in terms of spin numbers overall, but may not produce the insanely low spin numbers that a lower MOI head is capable of.

in doing our outdoor testing it was funny the M5 tour head at 10.5 spun more than the standard and m6 was the lowest spinning using px smoke 60 xstiff shaft in all 3..swing speed avg 107
