St. George golf trip in late March?

I am traveling to St. George at the end of march with the lady. We are going to get some golf and hiking in (ZION) and I am looking for recommendations for courses that will be good/fun for higher handicappers.

I have been there several times, biggest thing is what is your budget?

Budget wise I am hoping to stay under a 100 a round per person. I do not mind to spend more more if its super worth it. I am open to playing later twilight to get some better deals as well. also don't mind to play any muni or lower budget courses if they are fun course with cool layout/views. Not overly concerned with pristine conditions ( within reason...lol).

You'd be making a huge mistake not playing Sand Hollow regardless of price at that time of year. The stretch on the back nine is stunning. Also note, you'll be dealing with early season/less than prime conditions. 3 trips to Mesquite/St George over Masters weekend for me have proven St George to be cooler and behind in the growing season vs Mesquite in April. Conditions can be good/semi-dormant to bad. The Ledges last year in early April was in really bad shape.

I agree with bsirota, if you don't mind paying close to a $100 Sand Hollow is a must. Coral caynon is just down the road and has great views and is about the same cost but it is definitely a much tougher track. For a couple of mid price rounds around $50-60 I would suggest Sky Mountain for views it is also near Sand Hollow and in town Sunbrook. It has 3 nines, if you can definitely play "the point" 9 and then either Woodbridge or Blackrock. I would avoid the two "municipal" course Southgate and St. George golf club, they are in good shape but no views and pretty plain layouts. Lastly if you want just a fun little 9 holes in the afternoon, Dixie Red is a very inexpensive and cool track in the red rocks.

I was just looking at our pictures from St. George back in 2013. If you are in the area and a golfer and don't play Sand Hollow, well, you aren't really a golfer.

Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! I locked in rounds at Sand Hollow / Sky Mountain and a quick tune up round at Dixe red hills. Then hitting Sunbrook if I have the time.

I am hearing good things about Sun River. What are thoughts on Sun River vs Sky Mountain?

Right now I have in my ratings (best to worst)

Sand Hollow 9 (some of the coolest holes in the country)

Entrada

Coral Canyon (solid course but conditions can be rough)

Ledges 9 (best greens in Utah but front nine isn't spectacular)

Sunbrook (some really cool holes and some thru housing.) Great par 3 island

Sky Mountain (holes 15-18 are great and many are forgettable)
