HZRDUS T1100 in a 3 Wood?

EquiptoEquipto Members Posts: 391 ✭✭
Has anyone tried this? What are your thoughts?

I have one sitting around in driver length and before I cut it I would like some thoughts/experiences/opinions.

I currently play a HZRDUS black 62g driver, and the T1100 is 75g, again at driver length.

Also, it has a TM tip, so if you have recommendations with a 2017 M1 3 wood that’s what it will be played with.

Probably would be super good in a 3 wood. Nice and stable and should provide a strong flight. I would do it for sure

I have it in my backup 3W at the moment, and my only suggestion if you are going to try it is to get the swingweight back up. The high balance point is going to make your 3W feel really light, unless you do like that feel

Better in a 3w than a driver IMO

If you're just going to butt cut it, it's going to play quite a bit different than what it's designed to. I would suggest removing the tip and tipping it and then trimming to length from the butt. No reason why you can't try it out. May be a great club off the tee, my only worry would be off the deck but that all depends on your delivery and ball flight.

been there -- used a T1100 in my m2 Tour 3w for a good while. it as a guaranteed fairway finder -- low flight lasers. i had a bit of polyfill in the head to get the weight and sound perfect.

still pissed i sold that club.

    Epic Flash SZ / 9* (set N/S) / Fuji Pro 2.0 TS 6X tipped 1.25"
    Epic Flash SZ / 3+ (set +1/D) / DF 70TX tipped 1.50"
    Epic Flash / 5 (set N/S) / BF 90TX Tipped 1.75"
    785 / 3-PW / PX 7.0
    RTX4 / 52, 59 / DG S400
    Piretti Tour 801R / 35.5"

Appreciate the info. I play the 6.5 in the driver now tipped 1” and love it. Any suggestions for how much to tip the 75 gram in the 3 wood?

the tipping instructions for the 3 wood are 1/2", so, i wouldn't go more than 1 1/4"...
