Is the GEA down? merged (up?)

For the past many days I haven't been able to log onto 4GEA.com. I have tried two different browsers at work, three different browsers on my home PC, 2 different iPads at home, and two separate iPhones away from my home wireless access point. They all come up with the same webpage with the GEA's background saying Error...Error has occurred...try again...error log. It shows up everywhere. Are they down or should I be looking ffor some other solution. The page being shown on all of the devices seems to come from Beehive Error Handler, if that matters any.

I was there from day 1. They were an off shoot of a misfit discussion board section on golfweb or something to this effect. Can't remember the exact name of the site. Anyway, GEA was super active for a bunch of years. The software is god awful bad though so I stopped going back (and apparently I'm not the only one).

Won't be missed by me. The things which make this place great, such as effective moderation, have been completely missing there since Derrick lost interest.

I think I heard about it from the old Golf Channel forum. In the beginning years I learned more about golf equipment than I ever could have imagined from the 4gea.

I hope it comes back. It had some faults but overall doesn't every site? I will miss it as I don't really know how to navigate this one. I need practice? Maybe someone else will step up and saveit.

Yep, it started out as golfweb. I have a shirt with golfweb logo on it. Way too big for me now but I just could not get rid of it when I gave away all my XL shirts.

Just starting an offshoot on new software. Not intended to compete with wrx since it's the king, just another place to go.

What's a GEA?

Golf Equipment Aficionados. In before the lock.

It's a 90's forum where a bunch of older guys talk some golf but a lot of other things besides golf. TV's, dishwashers, etc. A smaller place. No threat to golfwrx. Many 4gea'ers are members here.

Might I suggest Ferguson’s favorite ! Joanns sewing circle forums. They have a nice golf towel crochet section. And socks. Don’t forget the riveting series “ how to darn those darn golf socks “. For the plus 4 wearers of course.

What's a GEA?

You're going to hear a lot of snark, but it's the forum a lot of us WRX old timers were on prior to moving over here. It had a good run in the first half of the 2000s.
