I'll be seeing Nick Lowe live in a couple of weeks.  Here's a couple of Nick with Rockpile from right around 1980

I used the SHARE button down below the video, and posted the EMBED code in the text box, and my video shows up the way I wanted it to.

I did like the Smiths, they fit my desultory view of life as a teenager, and "Heaven knows I am miserable now/ I was looking for a job and then I found a job/ Oh Heavens know I am miserable now"
This one will not get a link simply because it is way too much, but fit into my Black Flag type persona which also enjoyed the Smiths... I know weird, right?
If you want to hear a necrophiliac love song, this one is for you! Google "TSOL Code Blue." Good golly what a statement about the teen life.

I couldn't get too into The Smiths because Morrissey just wallowed in misery way too much but How Soon Is Now is just so original and good that it is a timeless classic from that era.

And LOL TSOL? Nice! I remember the Beneath the Shadows album more. Wash Away is a great song by them.

If I have to choose some good 80s punk, I would pick

Teenagers from Mars and Where Eagles Dare by the Misfits
How Will I Live Tomorrow by Suicidal Tendencies
City Baby's Revenge, Womb with a View, and Pins and Needles by G.B.H.
    Grimly Fiendish by the Damned
    Salad Days by Minor Threat

You know you're old when songs from almost 40 years ago don't feel like oldies! :D

Over in the 60s/70s thread there was talk about songs that remind the participants of their HS sweethearts. Got one to add that belongs over here. To this day when I hear this song I think of her and how blue her eyes are. Can't think of anyone I've seen or dated or heck even any female students that came close to that shade of blue.

Weird coincidence, her husband (unknowingly to me at the time) joined a Fantasy Football league I'm in with friends from back on the east coast last year. I draft over FaceTime while most of them gather to meet/draft. Did one **** of a spit take when I saw her in the background with the wives as they were going out. The best man from my wedding is in that league and still makes fun of me over it, since he knew what could happen before I did.

Yeah I put that song high on my all time favorite songs list. But for my all time favorite bands I still place the Cocteau Twins higher than the Smiths and Morrissey. They are probably #1 on my list for best 80s band.

I'll admit I always liked the story told through these 2 music videos as they related to the songs. Not something I'd really expect out of the Moody Blues in the mid/late 80s.
