What are the courses that you love to play that never make a top 25 list or people don’t talk much about?

Another vote for Hemlock. Need to get back there this season.

It's not going to make a top 500 in Michigan list but I enjoyed playing the Falls at Barber Creek outside Grand Rapids last year. Short, tight, quirky, some holes are just odd but the greens rolled very nicely and I enjoyed the risk/reward challenge on most holes.

Verona Hills

Cedar Chase ... held stage 1 US Open at 1-point, I'm sure conditions can be hit and miss but it's a great layout. One of my favorites.

Lakes of Taylor from the tips...one of greatest fair challenges you will face in the state.

Holes 14 thru 18 are pound for pound the hardest 5 finishing holes in the state.

Great character course, layout is ok, conditions are ok (when groomed, its awesome)

Number 4 thru 7 is a jungle trek.

Rouge Park!

Plus one for rouge. Great layout. Conditions were a bit off last year. Hoping this year will be better.

Agree on Hampshire, Meadows and HG. Diamond Springs is poorly conditioned and I am not a fan of the Lynx (outside of the Up North feel).

Plus one for rouge. Great layout. Conditions were a bit off last year. Hoping this year will be better.

they are never outstanding haha but they layout is phenomenal!

The only one that hasn't been mentioned that I know of is Thornapple Pointe. Greatly underrated IMHO. Incredible width, great routing with a lot of strategy, playable for high handicappers but tough enough from the backs for good players.

Lots of great courses listed. For the most part, they are all good tracks.

Love the front nine at Calderone, back not bad either.

Pilgrims Run, worth the drive.

The Meadows (if you are referring the the one at Grand Valley State) Is fun to play.

Not a big fan of the Grande.

I play Pierce Lake way to much, and always enjoy it

One not mentioned is Hunter's Ridge out in Howell. Kind of out of the way, but a good track for the area. Especially good if you play with your wife, as it is setup well with women's tees.

I had to come back and edit to add one course, while has had a pretty sketchy history on condition and ownership, I always enjoy playing Faulkwood Shores out in Howell. Not a real gem of a course, but can be a very enjoyable in the right conditions.

Faulkwood is owned by Singh Golf now, will be a subdivision someday :angry: but for the foreseeable future it will remain a golf course . They are in the second faze of improvements to Faulkwood this year so you should see a better product late spring early summer. Links of Novi is owned by Singh and is in great condition since they took it over.

Tamaracks, Harrison (just fun N cheap)

all within 15 minutes of our cottage

Hunters Ridge in Howell. Off the beaten path in the middle of nowhere. Links type feel to it, just a fun little course for $25-30.

Eagle Glen in Farwell. Great course to play if you are heading north for a boys trip

Currie West in Midland isn’t bad either, though one nine is better than the other.

i dont know if those would be considered hidden gems. Both are top rated tracks that arent cheap!

I wish I could disregard conditions, but Doster is soooooo bad that I don’t think that’s possible. Maybe Doster 10 years ago could have made a “hidden gems” list.

Same for the Lynx and Heritage Glen...2 huge thumbs down.

+1 on Hemlock, I also really like Hawk's eye and rarely hear it mentioned.

Westwynd in Oakland Twp is a picturesque and challenging track, although I don't care for the new routing.

Sweetgrass. 45 minutes from me. Played there many times. They are opening another course. Gray walls is tough. Timber stone also
