Email convo I had in December with Ashway line and twine:

    Hello James,

Yes, Ashaway makes the 20-A- 4 black golf whipping. The minimum order is $100. This is 2 x 1500 yard spools @ $50/spool. Please call me at 800-556-7260 with a Visa or MC if you would like to place an order.

    Sincerely Yours, (name)

So that is an option if you have a few hundred clubs to do.

Otherwise you can use nylon fishing line, some waxed thread from craft shops, etc. I went with 40lb test black monofilament line. It can appear green-translucent under light but otherwise seems to work ok. Haven’t used the club enough to know about durability.

    Hi

    Thank you

I will contact them and see if they send to sweden.

I have around 50 persimmon clubs here.

So 3000 yard will be fine. :-)

For older classic clubs I prefer using linen based whipping.  Generally 4 ply works but 7 ply will work as well.
