Tiger WD’s from Bay Hill

Tiger just withdrew from API citing a neck strain he’s had for a few week. Hopes to be back for Players. He says his back is fine and isn’t concerned about the long term. Yikes.

So if he’s had it for a few weeks, why would he add Mexico? Has he actually had it for a few weeks? I was looking forward to walking a laid back Bay Hill while the frenzy followed Tiger.

I think this gels with how he's played the last couple events. I noticed that his ball speed was pretty low at Riviera (low 170s at best with the driver). And then in Mexico, he was hitting irons off almost every tee and not attacking with the driver like everyone else. Probably wasn't feeling comfortable too go hard.

It's hard not to worry that there's more to this than he's saying based off of everything like this in the past. Hopefully it's as minor as he implies and he's good to go for the Players.

Neck Strain. It would seem to imply a muscle injury vs his spine. Hopefully.

I'm being facetious but at the same time, the cynic in me can't write off the possibility. He refuses to speak to reporters over the weekend in Mexico (something I'm not sure he's done 2 days in a row in his entire career) and now withdraws from this... Tiger hasn't been in front of reporters since the Bob Kraft story broke. While it seems very far fetched and like a total coincidence, part of me wonders if Tiger's camp knows that a journalist has some insider info and is waiting to drop a bomb.

It's so hard to find a good massage place when you've been to one in particular for so long. They usually know all the right techniques to use if you are a regular.

Pretty sure this will be the new normal. Hopefully Tiger can stay healthy enough to give himself the opportunity to win a few more times before he hangs it up, it just seems hard for him to be "Tiger Woods" for 4 consecutive rounds any longer. Reminds me a lot of Jack at the same age. Maybe in 3 years he will have a 1986 moment.

I think this is more the schedule that is coming up. He was going to play 4 time in 6 weeks through the Masters. This week is the least important of what he is going to play.
