M5 Tour driver...any reviews? Comps to Flash SZ?

dan040286dan040286 Advanced Members Posts: 294 ✭✭
I haven’t found much commentary on the the M5 tour driver, the smaller 435cc version. Is anyone on tour gaming this? How’s it compare to the regular M5 or some of the other recent TM offerings for launch/spin? Any side by side vs Cally Flash SZ?

Thanks

Still no one has hit it? The site had the 10.5 showing as available the other day and now it looks to be backordered again

I have hit it and it is my favorite of the TM and callaway drivers. Not good enough to game because it didnt beat out my TS3 but I love the look of the small head and got really good spin numbers with it.

It’s a great looking club but I find the regular M5 to be already low spinning so I doubt I could keep it afloat. But I’m sure it’s going to be deadly in the hands of those who need the added reduction in spin numbers.

Ive had mine since Tuesday. Around 200 less spin on average than the 460 using the same shaft. Hardly any difference from my M3 440.

I haven€™t hit it against anything else because I hate titleist drivers, the flash sounds horrible to me, and the cobra is ugly to me.

The difference in launch and spin off the 460 doesn't make it worth doing in my opinion. Unless you really like the smaller head and just hit it better because of that, the 460 is so low spin that the offset in off center ball speed is a real compromise.

I have it. The difference from the 460cc to the Tour was massive for me. The 460cc had a tendency to want to spin on me and sat around 2800-2900, the tour dropped that down to 2400-2500

Btw if I look carefully at this pic the carbon fix looks to be proper at least along the side with the weight as I see metal between the slot and the carbon. Not sure about the hammerhead slot though.
