    His biceps look good tho

But do they glisten as well as Kaymer's?

Just saw the front page article on HVIII and his driver debacle. What a farce the USGA rules have become. The "modern game" is just as perplexingly stupid as the "old game" rules.

    It wasn't a new rule.

Not my point. The point is these are modern clubs you can literally assemble in seconds on a course, and the rules don't account for this correctly.

Also, TW is out of this tourney. I'll be doing some storm cleanup this weekend I suppose rather than watch this one.

I don't get this mentality. There are 143 other golfers to watch in this event.

    I thought he MC'd. I'll be around.

Azinger needs a Neuro exam, something is wrong with him.

I agree. I think he was plagued with chasing distance as his average is up several yards from a few years ago. He's not doing well with the new TS3, maybe time to bench it.

I've noticed the distance is up a bit too, although I think his ranking hasn't moved as much (20 spots or so).

If true (distance chasing), I don't know if it was a bad move or not. I think Phil figured out how to add a lot of distance once Tiger started killing everyone. Phil wasn't short when he came on tour but in the mid-2000s he was one of the longest. This move almost certainly extended his career/relevance, and probably changed it as well. McCormick's main student on the LPGA added ~10 yards and got to #1 for a period.

Obviously we know for whatever reasons Spieth isn't playing well now. However, it may be less of a foregone conclusion that "just doing the same thing" would have kept producing the same exceptional results.

A lot of Phil’s distance came from optimizing his launch numbers though I’m sure he’s done some pliability and strength training though in conjunction. Phil when he was younger used to hit these majestic risers that start low then rise up to the apex and then flutter down.

    The steroids help too.

Yes, but you wouldn't have know the beauty of Kaymer's glistening biceps, as he sweats down the fairway.

Good description of his delivery. Sometimes even with any type of preparation, back story research and voice coaching, there's no overcoming who you are. Playing off his RC captaincy. Wish David Duval was selected.

Let’s go with “wetter than most”.

It has taken Rory's group 4:30 to play 14 holes. And Rory isn't slow.

    My God.

Opinions are my own and are never to be taken seriously.
and for God's sake, if you're going to whine about Jim Nantz, have the respect to spell his name correctly.

Did they? That would explain why this round is dragging

So his warm up to Augusta is going to be Match Play?

    Not ideal IMO

Copperhead course would have been better.

Beautiful shot into 16 by Rory.

    Also, this was pretty good:

So classy of Tommy to use the footpath on 17 instead of just walking on water
