Ping Tour 85 Hybrid in G410 - what is it?

Anyone know what this shaft specifically is? I've heard UST Mamiya likely makes it. None of the weights line up but I assume Ping is listing trimmed weights while UST shows untrimmed weights.

I'm guessing its either a Recoil ES or Prototype or Proforce V2.

Thoughts?

I’ve always been lead to believe that the ping tour shaft is most similar to the UST elements Chrome shaft. I also believe that they have two suppliers for the Ping Tour shaft and those companies are Aldila and UST and they produce that shaft for ping at pings requested specs. I don’t know if that’s 100% true but it’s what I’ve always believed to be the truth.

Chrome is discontinued and also didn't appear to have a hybrid model?

Recently I changed the grip of my Gmax it had a Tour 65 shaft in it, and the label under the grip had the "UST" logo along with the serial number.

Ust and aldila make shafts for ping in pings specs. Woods are ust. Dunno about hybrid. My guess ust

I found the tensi to launch much easier to feel better.

Thanks. I hit the Tensei R and Evenflow Black 5.5 and stock R and S. Stock S was better than R for me. Tour R was the ticket, much better feel and strikes were much more consistent. Tensei R just didn't feel right to me. Evenflow Black was ok but didn't feel like the ball was taking off well and the results showed it on the monitor. Perhaps the Evenflow Blue would have been better but they didn't have it to try and it is an upcharge from Ping. I was about 89-90 MPH with 22 degree and was getting like 200-210 carry. Dispersion was so tight with the Tour 85R I had to get it. Just really want to know what it is specifically or if its totally custom for Ping from UST.

Just spoke to Ping, they said that they have different manufacturers build for them and its custom specs so it won't match up to anything on anyone's site. I suppose that's possible, but sounds like what they'd say b/c they don't want to say exactly what it is too. I'm hoping to get a look under the grip and call whoever is there with the serial # of the shaft to ask.

Bumping this thread, any comparisons of the Ping Tour X vs Evenflow 6.5 vs. Tesei X?

AFAIK Ping is about the only company left that actually still designs shafts to their specs rather than just buying an off the shelf design from a shaft company. That's not to say that Ping isn't also doing some cost cutting, but their Ping branded shafts are actually a design that Ping truly believes will work for the widest range of players.
