GOLFWRX Personality Poll

LUMALUMA I Am My Greatest DownfallAdvanced Members Posts: 2,345 ✭✭

Seeing some of these recent threads, I wanted to see where the thought process majority is here on WRX. In the case of many threads, it seems that many members have certain goals for their game. Some play for fun and only fun, some strive for and accept luck, while others strive for perfection and only perfection. For some, score no matter how you get it matters. Others care about achieving specific results regardless of scores.

For the sake of actually possibly learning SOMETHING around here for a change, answer honestly.

I strive to hit a good shot every time, but I'm happy to accept the lucky bounces.

I'm paying to play. I want to play well, but as they say "I'm not good enough to get angry with a bad shot".

Oh, and I've been told I have no personality :-)

I have to admit I did this once in the club championship. I missed the GIR and had a very tricky chip. My plan was to hit a lob at the hole and get it to stop. Instead, I pulled it a bit and hit it too hard. The thing goes to the back hill and rolls all the way back about 12-feet and ended up about 2-inches from the hole.

This was the 2nd say of the club championship and I was in the final group, so there were people watching. Everybody clapped and I heard one person say 'brilliant!' and another say 'he's obviously played here before' and I acted all along like I meant to do that.

I totally agree. You have to learn to take the good with the bad!

Third option for me. People who have played with me a lot know that I am infamous for cursing a shot as awful the millisecond it leaves the clubface, only to have it get some crazy lucky break and end up in a great spot.

I will take any big bird - no matter how ugly or lucky.

But OP you missed out posting the follow-up poll:

Ok, so you got lucky and holed out an eagle. On the next hole you:

    1. Make a nice solid par to hang onto those two under for at least one additional hole.

    2. Follow it with a birdie - yes! Three under in two holes!!!

    3. Give one stroke back. But hey, for two holes you are still one under.

    4. Give both back - in a nice double that brings you back to reality.

    5. Give them both back plus some - and walk off of the next green shaking your head and muttering to yourself profane words that cannot be shared here.

As for me? Odds would be good I would give them back not long after I got them.
