Looks real nice. I've always been a fan of the blacked out shafts. That's the reason my SM7s 46, 50, and 55 are all Onyx S400 shafted. I know there are X100 shafts in the Onyx finish out there but, the lengths for the 4-5 iron are a little harder to come by. Modus, great step in the right direction.

Love the black look, hate how it basically chips off after a few rounds...the only shafts I had had good success with the were the KBS Tour Custom Series, whatever their finish process was was very resistant to wear... Huge fan of the 120's though...have them 4-LW, can't see myself ever playing a different shaft unless I have to go lighter to which I would see myself going to the 105s....

The black look is awesome - but I will say that matte black chips very easily. The PVD black (shiny) doesn’t chip. Anyone that has have the Dynamic Gold black shafts know how bad those can chip.

Agreed, they do look sweet though!   I had to get rid of my Apex Blacks because even though they look awesome new, 6 months later they look like junk because of the wear to the black.

Just curious. Why is the 120 so popular over the 130? I also hope the black is way more durable than the tt onyx.

I’m not 100% positive, but I believe it’s because of the bend profile of the 120. I play the 120 and love them. I’ve never hit the 130 though so I wouldn’t be able to give any feedback on the true difference.

The 120 is a stock shaft option for OEMs and the 130 is an upcharge?

The 130 is a unique profile that fits a certain type of swing better = hard loader, retains the lag longer. Sergio plays these. These are very stiff in the butt and stiff in the mid and then a bit softer in the tip. Not too many shafts out there with this profile.

    Fantastic driving iron shaft

Light steel has been slept on as we all obsess over tour style graphite hybrid builds. I’ve fallen victim to it too but got my reliables with steel ready to swap in

Yes the material that Nippon use chips very easily, I've got the wedge 115 shafts in same colour and chipped first week, I've have since covered up a bit of it to prevent scratching.

Do you own this exact matte finish? My guess this will be one of the extremely durable polymers. I’ve been using them for years and they hold up incredibly well. BB
