Is there such a thing as large blade irons?

im currently gaming j40 cbs and love the minimal offset and thin top line. I really like blades but they seem too small.

Check out srixon 945,965 and the new z-forged. They have minimal offset, thin top lines and are longer heel to toe with a good bit of forgiveness

I have been looking at the mp 18 but to be honest I haven’t hit a Mizuno yet a liked. I think the look awesome but the feel isn’t there. Are the 965 bigger ( heel to toe ) than say the mp h5’s?

TM P770.  Plenty of forgiveness and not really GI looking at all (at least to my eye).  I've recommended these so many times I'm starting to worry I'll be associated with them just like Bobcat is with the SLDR C.

I will place a safe bet that my Srixon Z945 irons have the same sole thickness when compared to most of the players CBs out on the market right now, any Srixon blade made in the last 4 or so years are CBs disguised as a blade, it's fantastic.

Of the Srixons, the 965 is slightly larger profile than the others. Quite playable and definitely worth a demo for what you seek.

Where are you guys finding all these Srixon irons?  I don't live anywhere close to anyone who actually has demos.  Is it just from word of mouth on this site?  I can understand that, but have only seen these in Akron OH in one shop, and they don't really have a demo area.

I saw the z-forged at my local range yesterday. I think I might give them a hit. They are slightly larger than the blades in my signature. I believe Srixon are all forged by Endo - in either Thailand or Japan. So, probably a really nice stick.

Srixon have a decent presence in Australia so I was able to purchase through a retail store here.

I recommend buying a used single iron on eBay or similar.  You should be able to find them with your choice of shaft and at a reasonable price.  Once you view in person and demo you’ll know if they are suitable for you

Fourteen FH 1000 is quite long heel to toe as well, many traditional blade players find them more forgiving than normally prefer.

Thanks for the feedback guys.  Maybe I'll try a demo off eBay, but in all honesty don't see anything unseating my P770s for a while.  I do like the idea of the V-Sole, so might be right up my alley?  Does one the models favor a toe miss?

Longer headed blades do not offer any added forgiveness.  Hit a longer blade on the toe and and it will twist.
Ask me how I know?  I've various blades off and on for years.  The smaller headed blades have more mass in the hitting area.

I had a set of Titleist 690 MB's and thought they looked really big, might be an inexpensive way to go. They get mad love on here ,probably easy to find too.

As a side note the #1 thing you can do to the design of a golf club to raise the moi and increase its resistance to twisting is make it longer heel to toe.
