Ping zing irons

I know this has been talked about a lot but today I decided to take out my old Ping Zing irons to see how they played and I was amazed. They actually played better than my newer irons that I've been playing for the past year. What's everybody else's thoughts on these? I know a lot of people think they're ugly but I was pretty impressed with the results

I have an old Zing SW that I used up to a season ago. It had lots of offset and high measured bounce (although I think the sole width was relatively thin).

I think no one disputes how effective these irons were (lots of offset and toe weighting can help a fair number of people). The problem was that they came after the famed Eye 2, and the looks weren't great. But are they really better than any relatively recent G series iron?

My dad bought his set of ping zings right before I was born and has gamed them ever since. For him, a non-serious recreational player, they are a pretty good option and he gets along with them just fine. I can’t imagine him playing anything else. I just can’t get along with them myself when I try them out, but I have borrowed his 1-iron on occasion. I feel they performed similar although slightly shorter than my old Taylormade Burner plus’s. That 1-iron club is really fun, he calls it his ”fairway putter”

I have access to a set and I've had the same results. Never know, sometimes it's like picking up a new putter and you hole everything.

My Pops just gave me an early birthday gift, a set of very clean Zing Orange Dot 4-SW. They look funky, but I remember really wanting a set of ISIs when I started. The Zings look pretty close. Throw in the Rapture 3w that I’ve fallen in love with and there’s a lot of Ping in the bag again. Didn’t think that would happen. Hopefully gonna hit them Wednesday, this thread has me very excited about it.

I played 18 yesterday w my Zing2 set, fun, 1 iron weaker ... but very straight

Can't wait to hear how your comparisons of the blueprint and S55's goes.

My first set of clubs were a set of Zing 2. Still miss those, should have never gotten rid of them. I'm currently on the look out for a set to keep as a back up/travel set. Went from Zing 2, i20, G25, then back to i20. Would love to game a set of Zing 2s with my weekly group while they all play with their new clubs.
