Do you own your swing or are you renting it.

Who on here own's their swing?
If you have owned it, even temporarily, for how long (how many weeks, months, years?)
Personally, I keep getting denied by the loan officers so I have to keep renting.

I own my putting stroke. My swing is on loan from the Smithsonian.

I have never felt like I have owned it, even though I play to an OK level. It is really the thing I am striving for.

So, when you have owned it... what kind of rounds did you have?
Any stories regarding how many birdies you got in a round where you were lights out?

I own it. It's just like owning an old out of warranty BMW. It requires a lot of maintenance and can stop working at any given time.

I don't know what owning it means. I feel like when I'm mishitting the ball, I know why. So that's good.

Im fine with my swing. I know it well, what does that mean?

I know what the question means and, yes, I own my swing. I invented it, I perfected it, and it's personal to me. No one has ever been able to help me correct it when it goes off, because they don't understand how it works. I always get the wrong advice.

Not a full round, but my best lights out effort was being 2 over through 4, then playing the next 12 in 6 under before finishing bogey, bogey.

To me owning my swing means making that sort of 'lights out' run a lot less streaky, minimising misses and if I hit a bad shot not repeating it.

I own it for about 9 holes and then it goes into foreclosure on the 10th. Golf is so much fun when you're able to call your shot and execute it but I've yet to do it for 18 consecutive holes.

I've been places like this before and there are plenty of others as well, and all that needs to be said is get out now. Everyone.

It's your swing and that's all there is to it.

    Cracking title. Love it.

Never owned my swing. Embarked on a quest to find it in November 2017. Still very much a work in progress. Im hopeful, but also realistic. Not sure where the quest ends.

Surely there’s peeps out there just playing their own swing who know their tendencies who can score consistently?

    Would like that...

I'm getting close to owning my swing.
I've been renting with an option to buy!
I think this could be a big year for me.

ahhhhh yes, I understand what you're saying, but for me: When I watch my ball entering an area that resembles a corn field(always feels like a slow motion ball flight), I am no longer the owner of the ball.

I don't own my swing, my swing owns me. Actually, it's probably more like a slave master than an owner. I keep trying to escape but it always catches up with me in the end.

My swing is the Arc of Covenant and Shakespeare manuscripts of the Money Pit. I'm running around in my own reality show digging holes and chasing tales to find it.

no golfer ever truly owned their swing. if you mean in the sense that it is on autopilot and works on demand. nope. will never happen. Moe norman lived at the driving range 8 hours a day and he still hit bad shots. and he quit playing on tour.
Hogan worked as much as Moe did and was one of the most athletically gifted golfers ever. Ok, so if those 2 guys "owned" their swings even if for only a very brief period....even the elite amateur player can pretty well forget that concept.
all you can do is mostly eliminate the really awful shots and increase the percentage of really good shots. it will happen over time with the correct fundamentals, steady work and mental commitment. but bad swings are a part of every round of golf for every level of player. period. just part of the game and how you handle it is what determines your score.
