I am always surprised at how many pros play their drivers in draw settings. Even power players like Tony Finau — sets his driver for a strong draw bias.

If the loft is -2, wouldn't that open the face? So does that cancel out with the draw setting and play more neutral?

Yeah it would open it. Then the D setting to neutralize it. I think you've got it figured out! BUT, Im still really confused to see him playing 7* listed loft setting. Thats stupid low for that head and his swing.

I can't tell- is he using a RH or LH sleeve?

Players that have it lofted up or down are probably trying to play around with the face angle to get it how they want, based off whatever the face angle was measured at.

It’s a different adapter. That is the “Tour Strong” adapter i believe. There is also a “tour flat” adapter.

Draw settings don't close the face... they make the club head more upright. The 2* less loft does statically open the face for a visual appearance of an open face at address but the upright club will do more dynamically to allow the club to release easier.

I know Callaway has tour adapters but I don't know how to tell the difference. If its a "Tour Flat" adapter, then the draw setting may be bringing the static lie back to normal or less flat for sure.

Finau is quite tall at 6' 4" so he probably needs the 'D' setting just to get the head positioned properly at impact. His short swing puts a lot of load on the shaft producing a heavy toe down effect.

Molinari on the other hand is not tall. Hey may be more like Jack Nicklaus and uses upright clubs to allow a release of the club more to the right through impact.

Different uses of lie angle for better contact and performance.

The diamond driver is coming to retail in a more limited release. It is supposedly 450cc, has a straighter face look to try and make it an easier transition for the Taylormade wood players like Molinari. It has more fade bias and a little higher spin that the Flash SZ driver. It will be the same price as the current models. From watching Molinari hit it on tv is sounds different to my ear.
