Another grip topic, cadero, stm, others??

So I am doing a project set of Onoff 247mbs refinished in copper and I am going to have jdm only shafts in them and looking to make it all jdm. My jdm grip experience is anything I got that came with a grip so I have had hands on Masda slicks, elite, PP cord, stm, etc.

For this set I want it to be out there and was thinking cadero 2x2. Then I read they are big, it says 60, but are they like midsize? I have an STM with the raised stars on it on a wedge, I assumed I would hate it, but I really

Like it a hell of a lot. I am a cord player forever, south Florida, summer golfer, sweaty hands, but I have found (like with stm) non cords can be good.

Open to any suggestions or maybe even make this a grip talk thread. As with all jdm, hard to get hands on, and going off pics and specs makes others input with hands on helpful.

If you want cord big, I'm still a fan of the phiten perfect pro. Slightly larger than the normal perfect pros, not too harsh and very durable.

Grips are SOOOO personal, but FWIW, I like PP Cord, Tour G cord, Iomic, Elite.

Masda are too slick for me, Muziik Dry Compound too rough, No1 too tacky, ...

No comments on cadero?

I am going to order one and see. The personal comment is nail on the head. This is where not being able to actually hold and see jdm stuff sucks. For most part you can get enough of an idea on photos of woods and irons, but with grips.....I would have thought I would hate the stm, yet I like it. I may think I like something else and hate it. Grips are something you know right away if you hate it or not....

stm super tacky very thin

caderos super tacky and soft quite thick and short

perfect pro dead average/middle on everything GREAT GRIPS

DWD very hard and super sticky but not tacky ( big difference) on the thinner side

muziik harder and longer , thinner. superb grips for dry conds. these last ages.

masda slicks. tapered, very hard compound, nothing better In the dry. not so awsome when it gets wet tho!

Everyone in Japan seems to be repping the Elite grips these days. They really are nice grips. Someone mentioned the other day that it seems Elite are the most popular grip these days whereas in recent years it was Iomic or NO-1. I believe it. Sponsored tournaments and everything over there. I don't think they've ever offered a cord grip until just recently where they showed it at the golf expo in Japan. I think its the "N" series. The Elite grips that I use are the Y360 SV. This is the updated, more durable version of the Y360. I had them, and they wore out incredibly quickly around the butt end. Much better durability with the SV so far. The feel on them is incredible and I also play in humid conditions with sweaty hands. No slipping issues. Might be something worth looking into. The Tour G cord grips are really nice, as well.

Really curious about this difference in your opinion. I always wondered when people mentioned certain grips as tacky that I’ve tried before and I had no idea what they were talking about. When I hear tacky, I think of tack paper, pine tar...things that could also be described as “sticky”. Please enlighten me so I can understand this better lol.

I use caderos on my drivers and UTs and thinking of them is for irons. Great in the dry. Would have some issue in rain.

Get the new models with the new Pentagon grooves. Should be better for wet conditions.

buy a nexgen and a masda.

I put lamkin utx cords on for now but I am going to go perfect pro cord I think. I prefer cords and always liked the perfect pros....

The utx cords feel a tad rougher and former than the pp cords.

I just bought a few of the Perfect Pro X-Line cord for my woods because of all the good reviews. Figured it would be just like any other cord grip, but I was wrong. They seem to hold up very well and I love the softer feel that they have over similar offerings. I enjoy the Tour G, but not as much as these. I will definitely be buying more. Now my new favorite.

I liked the Caderos and they go on with air very easy. My$.02
