Redwood Anser shaft pull

I have heard about the ball bearings in the hosel on older Pings, what about newer Redwoods? I have a 35” Anser that I would like to get down to 33.5” and think a new shaft would be better and hang onto original as is in case I want to restore as it came from factory. Thoughts?

I’ve pulled 3 different Redwood heads, none had the ball bearing.

You shouldn’t have any issue getting the shaft out. The potential issue is PING doesn’t use a .355 tip shaft on their plumbers neck putters...it’s more like .342 tip.

So what’s the customary work around...beading? Does anyone offer a direct replacement or back to Ping?

You can sand the shaft tip down on a belt sander until it fits. Not a big deal, just wanted you to know so you weren’t surprised when the .355 tip shaft didn’t go in right away.
