Do you like the Taylormade Spider Tour Putter?

I have used Odyssey Versa #1 putter for last 2 season but recently I have hard time aligning the putter. From the address position my eyes see the putt going left even though it is well aligned(I am right handed). As a result I miss a lot of putts on the right side and lost confidence.

I bought a Taylormade Spider Tour Diamond #1 putter on ebay, received yesterday and played a round today.

1. The feel off the face is not good for my taste. It felt somewhat soft but plasticky. My older Rossa Monza Spider was better.

2. Putts between 3 to 5 feet are close to automatic now which was the worst part of my putting recently.

3. The putter rolls the ball early and nicely. No bumpy start.

4. Distance control for long putts was good, better than I expected. I left few short but It was consistent.

5. I cannot say the putter is beautiful but looks good not too busy. All silver with single black sight line.

6. The putter felt light overall.

I think this putter will give my confidence back for short to medium putts. I can easily adjust my distance control after a few round. My only wish is a better feel either softer insert or crisp metallic feel.

What is your thoughts on the putter?

Taylormade has the best insert putters IMO. I don't like putters with inserts. I was killing some time at Golf Galaxy last weekend, and tried out all the putters they had out. I thought the spiders and Ardmore were the best of all the putters I tried.

I have a Black Tour Spider and love the way it rolls the ball. Its sufficient on long putts, but not the best. However, putts from 5 feet and in are automatic for the most part. The only negative I can provide is the hollow sound. Its a turn-off for me, which is why it won't stay in the bag.

I agree with what others have said about the sound, that was the largest difference to me between the Spider Tour and the Ping Sigma 2 Tyne 4. I loved the alignment of the spider without the site line, but for me the feel and sound of the Tyne 4 blew it away. Ping got that insert right in my opinion. If you could combine the look of the Spider Tour Black with the feel of the Ping you’d have the perfect putter in my opinion, much preferred the Spider at set up.

I just bought the Spider Tour Platinum and love it, especially on misses. Coming from an Odyssey Teron and when I put a really poor stroke on the ball now it tracks closer to the hole than the Teron did.

Love the insert and the weighting. Helps keep me in a pendulum motion.

I absolutely love mine. I have the red with white sightline with a slant neck. It kicked my Cleveland HB#1 out of the bag with a quickness. I've always been a blade guy and decided to try the Spider on whim. The feel is great (on par with the milled putter it just replaced), distance control is great (easy to leave myself within 3' on most putts of almost any distance), super easy to line up, and it's almost automatic from within 6'.

Just picked up a Red center shaft and really like the distance control a lot. I want to experiment with different weights but having a hard time finding the right ones.

I hate everything about it except it makes more putts than any other putter I have.

I wish they would made one with a normal milled face. I'm just not a fan of insert putters. The new navy blue spider X looks amazing but the insert is meh although doesn't mean I wont own one when they are blown out in 2020. But for now luckily the 6M exists because the concept is there and it flat works.
